Battlefield 6 Dominates EU Sales Charts as Pokémon Legends Z-A Falls to Third Place

Battlefield 6 Reclaims No.1 Position in EU Sales Charts

A recent report published by The Game Business, in conjunction with GSD data, reveals that for the week of October 19-26, Battlefield 6 has regained its status as the top-selling title in the European video game market. This comes right after Pokémon Legends Z-A temporarily claimed the top spot upon its launch. Consequently, Legends Z-A has now slipped to third position with EA Sports FC 26 firmly holding its place in the top three in terms of both units sold and revenue generated.

Shifts in Rankings: Analyzing Units Sold

After a solid week where Pokémon Legends Z-A debuted at number one, the latest figures show Battlefield 6 has surged back to prime position, with EA Sports FC 26 right behind in second and Pokémon now settling at third regarding units sold. However, it’s essential to mention that Nintendo does not release digital sales figures, which means GSD’s data strictly reflects physical sales.

Revenue Charts and the Missing Digital Sales Data

While the revenue charts also list the same top three titles, i.e., Battlefield 6, EA Sports FC 26, and Pokémon Legends Z-A, the variance becomes evident when analyzing subsequent rankings. It’s crucial to note that the absence of digital sales data for Nintendo may indicate that Pokémon Legends Z-A could potentially rank higher if these figures were included. Thus, the current standings understate the possible success of Pokémon’s digital sales.

Notable Absences and Revenue Achievements

The discrepancies between the unit and revenue charts are highlighted by the absence of notable October releases such as Ninja Gaiden 4 and The Outer Worlds 2 in the units sold rankings. However, both titles have successfully captured spots on the revenue charts, with Ninja Gaiden 4 ranked sixth and The Outer Worlds 2 at ninth.

Surprising Entries in Units Sold

Interestingly, there are three titles that appear on the units sold chart but have not made it onto the revenue charts. Among these is the new release Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted, which has achieved the sixth position in units sold. Additionally, Grand Theft Auto V occupies the eighth spot, while Titanfall 2 has seen an astonishing increase of 3, 688% in its sales ranking from the previous week.

Mass Effect: Legendary Edition Shows Strong Surge

Another title experiencing significant movement is Mass Effect: Legendary Edition, which has debuted at number ten in units sold. Although impressive on the surface, a review of the price trends on SteamDB indicates both Titanfall 2 and Mass Effect: Legendary Edition were recently available at a staggering 90% discount, making them incredibly accessible for gamers seeking a quality experience.

As an overall takeaway, while Battlefield 6 is back on top, the intricacies of sales data reflect an evolving landscape in the gaming industry, particularly in how digital sales amplify the true success of titles like Pokémon Legends Z-A and others.
