Battlefield 6 Beta Hits Impressive Milestone
The Battlefield 6 beta has now opened its doors to all players, achieving a peak of over 470, 000 concurrent users on Steam, the only platform where user statistics can be accurately monitored. Given the current trajectory, it is expected that the count could surpass the significant threshold of 500, 000 concurrent users by the end of this beta weekend.
Exclusive Rewards for Participants
Players who participate this weekend will earn several exclusive rewards, including:
- Seeker Soldier skin
- All-Terrain Soldier skin
- Dominion weapon package
- Two weapon stickers
- Lights Out player card background
Looking ahead, those who engage in the second beta weekend from Thursday, August 14 to Sunday, August 17, will gain access to additional items, such as:
- War Machine vehicle skin
- Striking Distance weapon package
- Bat Company dog tag
Addressing Cheating Concerns
In a bid to enhance fair play, Battlefield 6 has implemented a robust kernel-level anti-cheat system that necessitates the activation of the Secure Boot feature on PCs. Nevertheless, early reports indicate a significant number of cheating attempts, as noted by the SPEAR Anti-Cheat Team in their recent communications on the Steam forum:
Anti-Cheat Effectiveness
Since the commencement of the Open Beta Early Access, the statistics are revealing:
- 330, 000 cheating attempts thwarted by Javelin.
- 44, 000 potential cheater reports on the first day, with an additional 60, 000 reported since.
The anti-cheat data reported is being used in collaboration with the Gameplay Integrity team to refine and enhance detection methods for Battlefield 6. They are also working alongside the Battlefield Positive Play team to actively identify and remove confirmed cheaters from the game.
Ongoing Efforts Against Cheating
While Secure Boot isn’t a foolproof solution to eliminating cheats entirely, it serves as an important tool in their arsenal against cheating:
“Secure Boot is how you’re helping us build up our arsenal. It’s another barrier that helps us make it harder for cheat developers to create cheat programs and makes it easier for us to detect it when they do. There are certain signals that we can only trust when Secure Boot is enabled.”
As the launch date of October 10 approaches, the team is committed to fighting against any form of cheating with relentless determination.
