Bandai Namco to Publish New Fantasy RPG from Former Witcher Developers

In February 2022, a new game development team emerged from Poland, known as Rebel Wolves. This studio primarily consists of talented alumni from CD Projekt Red, the creators behind the acclaimed Witcher series and Cyberpunk 2077. Early in 2024, the team unveiled the title of their inaugural game, titled Dawnwalker.

Recently, Bandai Namco Europe announced via X that they have acquired the publishing rights for Dawnwalker, with intentions to launch the game on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation platforms.

Rebel Wolves also shared the announcement on their official X account, detailing that Dawnwalker will offer “a dark fantasy narrative sandbox AAA action RPG, set within a medieval Europe.”This premise is sure to resonate with fans of The Witcher series.

While a release date for the game remains unconfirmed, Rebel Wolves mentioned that further details about Dawnwalker will be revealed later in 2024.

As Rebel Wolves focuses on developing Dawnwalker, the team at CD Projekt RED is concurrently working on new installments in The Witcher franchise. The latest updates regarding the anticipated fourth game, currently codenamed Polaris, surfaced in late August. CEO Michał Nowakowski noted that the game is nearing full production, with a substantial team of 400 individuals involved in its development. This new title is planned to be the first in a trilogy and will utilize Unreal Engine 5 from Epic Games.
