While many players are aware of the diverse romantic possibilities in Baldur’s Gate 3, a number of unique encounters often fly under the radar. One notable figure is Naoise Nallinto, who can be found at Sharess’ Caress, a local brothel. This encounter is easily overlooked due to timing in the game’s narrative, making our guide essential for uncovering this intriguing romance avenue. We’ll detail how to locate Naoise and navigate the romance myself.
Locating Naoise Nallinto in Baldur’s Gate 3
Step 1: Visit Sharess’ Caress during Act III
To encounter Naoise, you must progress to the early stages of Act III. As you journey towards Baldur’s Gate, your first stop will be Wyrm’s Crossing. It’s here where you’ll meet Raphael at Sharess’ Caress, conveniently located on the eastern side of the bridge leading into the city.
If you’ve previously visited Wyrm’s Crossing, use the South Span of Wyrm’s Crossing fast-travel point to teleport directly to Sharess’ Caress’ entrance.
Step 2: Seek Out Nymph’s Grotto
Once inside, head to the second floor to find Nymph’s Grotto. This chamber is accessed via a door marked with a green light and ivy-covered walls. While the door will be locked, it can easily be opened with a lock-picking roll of 10 or higher.
Romancing Naoise Nallinto
Step 1: Engage with Naoise
Upon entering Nymph’s Grotto, approach the bed where you’ll find Naoise engaged with Jara, a soldier from the Flaming Heart. Their interaction seems intimate, prompting Jara to react negatively to your presence. During this exchange, a tadpole in Jara’s head interacts with yours, leading to a pivotal dialogue. A suitable response might be:
- “Whoever you think I am, you’re mistaken.”
This triggers Jara to reveal her allegiance to the Absolute, ultimately transforming into a Mindflayer, which you must defeat to proceed. Once Jara is dealt with, Naoise will express her peculiar interest in Mindflayers, prompting a different set of responses. A recommended reply is:
- “Your client is dead. I thought you’d be more upset.”
With this comment, it becomes clear that Naoise is ready to move on. If you pass an Insight check, you’ll discover her eagerness for romance, leading to the next dialogue option:
- “That creature aroused you, didn’t it?”
Opting for less judgmental responses proves fruitful. Naoise will reveal she was anticipating the Mindflayer’s arrival, but is open to exploring other “flavors.” To escalate the situation, select the following two options:
- “What did you have in mind?”
- “Close your eyes and listen.”
This unique romantic encounter unfolds within your mind. Naoise invites you to define your role, providing various choices that yield different outcomes:
- Revered
- Contented
- Powerful
- Rich
- I think we’re done here.
Choosing ‘Contented’ leads to a brief romantic scene. However, be mindful that afterward, Naoise will express she can only afford to offer such pleasure once. Even if you have another relationship, such as with Karlach, this encounter typically doesn’t provoke jealousy. Following this scene, Shadowheart rewards you with the Carnal Rituals of Sharess inspiration point.
Additionally, post-romance, Naoise grants the Rapture boon, which bestows a passive 1d6 bonus to most ability checks, enhancing your gameplay experience.
