As you navigate the challenges of Baldur’s Gate 3, you’ll encounter a variety of magical items that enhance your gameplay. Among these, legendary items stand out as exceptional finds. However, locating these rare treasures can sometimes be a daunting task.
One such legendary weapon is Nyrulna, a hidden trident that adventurers might easily overlook if they aren’t aware of its location. Missing this powerful weapon means missing out on unique abilities and benefits.
Understanding Nyrulna in Baldur’s Gate 3

Nyrulna is classified as a legendary trident accessible only during the game’s third act. It’s renowned not just for its significant damage output but also for its remarkable abilities that can turn the tide in combat.
A primary feature of Nyrulna is its Zephyr Connection ability. This means that once thrown, the trident will return to you, making it an excellent choice for characters who prefer ranged attacks. Additionally, you cannot be forced to drop the trident, and upon landing, it creates an explosive thunder attack in the surrounding area.
Furthermore, Nyrulna grants the Veil of the Wind ability. This provides increased movement speed and expands your jump distance. It also ensures immunity to fall damage, making leaps a safe and strategic option during gameplay.
As a glowing weapon, Nyrulna serves as a constant light source, which is particularly advantageous for characters that lack darkvision, adding to its practicality.
In summary, Nyrulna is an ideal weapon for players who excel in throwing weapons. While it delivers satisfactory melee damage, its design encourages maintaining distance during engagements to leverage its unique capabilities effectively.
Locating Nyrulna in Baldur’s Gate 3

To acquire Nyrulna, players must progress to the third act and reach the area known as Rivington at Wyrm’s Crossing. Here, you need to search for the Circus of the Last Days.
The carnival is situated to the north of the Rivington fast travel point and slightly to the left of the Rivington General. Upon arrival, you will encounter a ghoul that must be dealt with before entering the circus.
Inside the circus, seek out a Djinni named Akabi, who can be found on the southern edge near a prize wheel.
Your objective is to deceive the Djinni. Engage him in conversation, while another character (preferably a stealthy rogue like Astarion) pickpockets Akabi to obtain the Djinni Ring.

After successfully stealing the ring, return to the character conversing with Akabi. The prize wheel will indicate a grand prize, but Akabi will accuse you of cheating, subsequently teleporting you to a remote jungle.
To get back to Rivington, simply head towards the portal in the jungle. Nearby, you will find a chest. Use your lockpicking skills to unlock the chest, and inside you will discover Nyrulna waiting for you.
