If you find yourself frequently low on health while navigating the challenges of Baldur’s Gate 3, you may want to consider options beyond standard healing spells—especially if your character class isn’t one that naturally boasts high health. While classes like Fighters, Barbarians, and Paladins come with health benefits, lesser-healing classes can significantly benefit from health regeneration.
In critical moments of battle when your healing resources are running thin, the Ring of Regeneration can be a lifesaver. This magical accessory provides continuous health restoration, potentially aiding your survival through difficult encounters.
However, acquiring this ring does involve a financial investment. Let’s delve into how to obtain the Ring of Regeneration in Baldur’s Gate 3.
Discovering the Ring of Regeneration

The coveted Ring of Regeneration can be purchased from one of two NPCs: Rolan or Lorroakan’s Projection. Your choice hinges on your narrative decisions and whether or not you manage to keep Rolan alive throughout your adventures.
If Rolan is still alive, you can buy the ring directly from him at Sorcerous Sundries in Baldur’s Gate. Conversely, if Rolan meets an untimely end, Lorroakan’s Projection becomes your go-to merchant for acquiring this much-needed item.
Both merchants offer the Ring for approximately 900 Gold. Do note that the final price may vary based on your relationship with the NPC, which can influence potential discounts.
For those feeling a bit daring, you might even attempt to pickpocket the ring. Some players have discovered that Lorroakan’s Projection occasionally glitches, allowing for infinite stealing. However, this method can be unreliable, so it’s wise to have a solid backup plan.
Locating Sorcerous Sundries

Sorcerous Sundries is situated within Baldur’s Gate. To access it, make your way through the Basilisk Gate, then head west along the road until you arrive at the Wine Festival. From there, turn south and continue west until you arrive at the entrance of Sorcerous Sundries. Alternatively, you can use the Lower City Central Wall waypoint to teleport directly to this bustling shop and proceed east.
Ensuring Rolan’s Survival

To secure Rolan’s survival, you’ll need to follow a series of straightforward steps outlined in his quest. He can be found initially at the Emerald Grove, past the location of one of the game’s earliest merchants, Arron.
When you encounter Rolan, he’ll express a desire to leave the Emerald Grove. Convince him to stay and, later, ensure you side with the Emerald Grove, successfully taking down the Goblin Camp to keep all the NPCs safe.

As the story progresses into Act II, you will find Rolan at the Last Light Inn. Here, he’ll be distressed due to the capture of his siblings and could lay blame at your feet. After your conversation, avoid interacting with Isobel, as doing so triggers an attack on the inn, which poses a significant risk to Rolan’s life. If the attack occurs, your priority should be to keep him safe.

After leaving the inn, proceed to the Shadowed Battlefield, heading south. Here, you will find Rolan being assaulted by several Shadows. Remember, these Shadows only become visible in light, so bring a torch or use a light-casting spell to assist your party in spotting and quickly dispatching them. Utilizing a weapon that deals Radiant damage can be particularly effective in this scenario.

Once you have successfully aided Rolan, you can shift your focus to completing remaining quests throughout Act II without the looming concern of his demise. If you have successfully kept Rolan alive up until this point, you will be able to find him at Sorcerous Sundries in Act III, where he will sell you the precious Ring of Regeneration instead of Lorroakan’s Projection.
