BABYMONSTER, the girl group from YG Entertainment, has officially reached a significant milestone by surpassing one million album sales with their debut full-length album, Drip. This achievement not only marks their first million-selling record but also highlights the group’s rapid ascent in the K-POP industry.

As reported on June 27, the album accumulated a total of 1, 011, 352 sales on the Hanteo Chart, a remarkable feat achieved approximately seven months following its release on November 1, 2024. This record reflects notable growth for the seven-member group, who debuted in April 2024 with their mini-album BABYMONS7ER.

Notably, Drip demonstrated the group’s escalating success by selling 677, 961 copies within its first week, highlighting a 1.7-fold increase compared to their initial debut album, which sold 401, 287 copies. In just a week post-release, total orders for Drip reached around 820, 000 copies, significantly outperforming their previous sales figures.

BABYMONSTER’s success transcends album sales; their international chart performance has also been impressive. The album debuted at No.149 on the U. Upon release, the music video for “Drip”reached the number one spot for “Most Viewed Videos within 24 Hours”.Meanwhile, the pre-released track “Click Clack” enjoyed a strong performance, remaining in the top 10 of global YouTube daily popular charts for four consecutive days and amassing over 60.07 million views. On Spotify, “Drip”continues to chart within the Daily Top Songs Global rankings, reaching a peak of 109th place.

Group Composition and Release Details

BABYMONSTER comprises seven talented members: Ruka, Pharita, Asa, Ahyeon, Rora, Haram, and Chiquita, hailing from South Korea, Thailand, and Japan. This marks YG Entertainment’s first girl group debut in seven years since BLACKPINK’s emergence. Initially debuting as a six-member group in November 2023 with the track “Batter Up, ”the group completed its lineup with Ahyeon officially joining in April 2024.
