Obsidian Unveils Post-Launch Roadmap for Avowed

A few months ago, Obsidian Entertainment launched its latest role-playing game, Avowed, which immerses players in a new fantasy setting within the beloved Pillars of Eternity universe, known as Eora. Following its release, the studio has rolled out several bug-fixing updates, but today marks a significant milestone as they revealed an extensive roadmap for future content alongside the release of their first major update.

Spring 2025 Update Highlights

The newly launched Spring 2025 update introduces an array of features aimed at enhancing gameplay experience, including:

  • Map Exploration Enhancements
    • Fog of war will be fully cleared once most accessible areas of the map are explored.
    • Entering a city on the overland map, such as the Northern Paradis in Dawnshore, will reveal that segment of the map.
    • Expanded fog clearing radius during exploration.
  • Critter Loot Drops
    • Defeated critters now have a chance to drop loot!
  • New Party Camp Feature
    • Players can choose to wait at the Party Camp to advance time.
  • Enhanced Soul Pod Functionality
    • Soul Pods can now dispel illusions, with the exception of Ryngrim’s entrance, which still requires Yatzli’s assistance.
  • New Settings Options
    • Players can optionally display chests on the minimap.
  • Power Attack Cancellation
    • The option to cancel power attacks while using the Bow and Arquebus has been added.
