Within the expansive world of Avowed, players will encounter a multitude of concealed locales and dungeons. Among these treasures is the elusive Waterfall Cave, located within the Emerald Stair region. Although the cave’s entrance is cleverly obscured, the rewards for exploration are significant, particularly the chance to acquire the formidable Death Knight armor and sabatons housed within its depths.
Discovering the Hidden Waterfall Cave in Avowed
To uncover the entrance to the Hidden Waterfall Cave, head to the area just west of Fior Mes Iverno in the Emerald Stair region. Fast travel to the River Fork Beacon near the Rootbound Godless Ruins. From there, follow the river north until you reach a majestic waterfall. The entrance is cleverly tucked away to the right of the waterfall, through a small opening—this is where your adventure truly begins.
As an added bonus, players will also find the unique Painter’s Brush trinket just outside the waterfall cave, making the journey even more worthwhile.
Acquire Unique Death Knight Armor & Sabatons in Waterfall Cave
Upon entering the Waterfall Cave, navigate through the cave’s winding paths until you reach a vast central area. Be prepared to confront several Xaurip enemies; dispatch them swiftly to ensure safe passage.
Beyond the central chamber, you will encounter two possible paths. To your left lies a pool of water, while to your right, stone steps ascend to higher ground.
Acquiring the Death Knight Heavy Armor
Dive into the pool to the left, where a concealed underwater route awaits. Swim through until you emerge on the opposite side of the cavern.
Once you exit the pool, a chest awaits containing the exclusive Death Knight Armor. This heavy armor is renowned for its impressive protective attributes and two beneficial talents, making it a valuable asset for any adventurer.
Acquiring the Death Knight Sabatons
To find the coveted Death Knight Sabatons, retrace your steps back to the main area of the Waterfall Cave. Head towards the right and ascend the stone steps to reach a higher platform. Here, you will encounter a room barricaded by wooden crates, alongside some explosive barrels on the floor. Carefully target the barrels using a ranged attack or spell to blow open the barricade.
Inside, you will discover another chest containing the unique Death Knight Sabatons. These sabatons, part of the Death Knight set, enhance maximum health and provide resistance against bleed and poison, making them an excellent addition to your gear.
