This comprehensive guide will assist you in discovering the locations of each cartographer, while also outlining the rewards that await upon completion of this quest.
Initiating the Mapping of the Living Lands in Avowed
Finding Sanza in Dawnshore

After concluding the prologue, players gain access to the entirety of the Dawnshore region. This newfound freedom could lead some to overlook Sanza, the non-playable character initiating the “Mapping the Living Lands“quest. Sanza is positioned north of the docks at a spot known as Claviger’s Landing.

To locate him, navigate north from the merchant cluster near the docks. Sanza can be identified just west of the bridge spanning the river, easily recognizable thanks to the quest exclamation marker above his head. When engaged, he will outline the quest’s goal: to retrieve maps from various cartographers scattered across the Living Lands.

Your mission will involve locating cartographers within each region and returning their maps to Sanza’s Emporium, situated in Northern Paradis. Note that the quest does not specify the exact locations of the cartographers, necessitating exploration.
Dawnshore Cartographer in Avowed

The initial cartographer resides in the Eastern Dawnshore region, specifically within the Southern Embrace. Your target is the landmark Usher’s Hand.

Move towards the northwest corner of Usher’s Hand, where a significant tree marks the area. Look for a corpse with its head crushed by a sizeable stone pillar—this individual is the first cartographer. The corresponding map is located beside the body.
Upon obtaining the map, return to Sanza’s Emporium. Rewards are given after the second map is submitted, but submitting the first one progresses the quest nonetheless.
Emerald Stair Cartographer in Avowed

The second cartographer awaits at the Naku Tedek temple grounds. It’s advisable to start from the Naku Tedek Party Camp. From there, proceed westward down the slope until you reach a path along the cliff’s edge. Proceed south until the path concludes, where Fleecia’s Map lies next to Fleecia’s deceased form.

Once you deliver the map back to Sanza, he will reward you with an Awakened Adra.
Shatterscarp Cartographer in Avowed

The third cartographer is concealed in the southeastern expanse of Shatterscarp. Start your journey south from the Twin Offerings Overlook, proceeding down a precarious section of jagged cliffs toward the ocean.

Follow the rocky trail southward, jumping from ledge to ledge. You’ll ultimately uncover the body of the third cartographer resting against a rock, with the accompanying map on the ground at their side.
Galawain’s Tusk Cartographer in Avowed

Acquiring the final map is a bit of a challenge. First, navigate to the Ash Forest, located in the northwestern section of Galawain’s Tusk.

Here, you will discover a small abandoned campsite marked on the map. Inspect a wooden post attached with a note detailing that the cartographer was captured and taken to Soreena’s Mercy.

Now head to the upper levels of Soreena’s Mercy where you’ll find Renato Varga, the fourth cartographer, imprisoned within a cell.

You can negotiate with the jailer concerning Renato’s fate, either opting to leave him imprisoned or persuading the jailer to release him. Regardless of your choice, you will receive the final map as your reward. Make your way back to Sanza to conclude the “Mapping the Living Lands“questline.
Be aware that there may be minor issues surrounding the reward system for “Mapping the Living Lands.”In our experience, we received an Adra reward just once after turning in the second map, while some players have reported receiving it for each map. We will continue to update this guide with accurate information as it becomes available.
