Should I Give the Splinter of Eothas to Sargamis?

How to Obtain the Splinter of Eothas Relic

As you navigate through the early stages of the Eothasian Temple, you will come across Sargamis, the Godlike Oracle recognized by various NPCs involved in initiating the “Dawntreader”quest. At this juncture, the pivotal decision you face is whether to offer assistance to Sargamis. Regardless of your choice, you can locate the Splinter of Eothas relic by exploring the pathway situated behind the animancy apparatus and the large corpse.
Gathering the relic is relatively straightforward. However, if you encounter any challenges, you may refer to our detailed “Dawntreader”walkthrough included earlier in this guide. Once you secure the Splinter of Eothas, make sure to return to the main chamber where your initial encounter with the Oracle took place.
Utilizing the Relic in Dawntreader
Option A:

Upon acquiring the Splinter of Eothas, several choices become available to you. If you choose to aid Sargamis, your primary option will be to place the relic into the large mechanism he intends to use for reviving Eothas. It’s important to note that, despite this attempt, there is no way to ensure the success of the Oracle’s experiment. Sargamis plans to harness numerous souls he’s collected to animate the construct, with the Splinter serving as the remaining essence of the mighty god.
Unfortunately, when this plan falters, Sargamis will inquire if he can utilize your “chime, ”which he believes might be the crucial missing element. Should you consent, you face the grim fate of perishing once he activates the animancy equipment. Alternatively, you can persuade Sargamis to sacrifice himself, or consider abandoning the experiment entirely. However, to pursue any of these options, you must still place the Splinter of Eothas into the body construct.
It’s noteworthy that eliminating Sargamis or persuading his self-sacrifice enables you to acquire the Last Light of Day, regarded as one of the finest swords available in the game.
If you decide to deposit the Splinter of Eothas in the Oracle’s body, take into account that it cannot be reclaimed. While selling the relic offers no significant long-term advantages, the only means to revert your choice once the relic is placed involves reloading a prior save.
Option B:

This option slightly varies from Option A, as it also requires placing the relic within the body mechanism. If you opt to eliminate Sargamis before or after securing the relic, it remains useful. Once Sargamis is dealt with, you will hear a voice emanating from the Adra, requesting permission to utilize the body constructed by the Oracle upon their freedom from confinement. At this point, the implications of this choice may not be clear.
Be sure to engage with all dialogue options provided by the voice; these conversations will offer valuable insights into the character’s motivations. If you decide to grant the voice access to the body, you will still need to place the relic into the mechanism. Aligning with the voice during your journey may yield further developments as the game progresses.
Option C:

Your final option is to retain the Splinter of Eothas and proceed to Paradis to fulfill the mission without deviation. You can also opt to sell the Splinter for a minor financial return. However, this approach is seen as short-sighted, wasting the relic’s potential for minimal reward.
