The Escape Plan serves as an introductory side quest in Avowed, focusing on aiding a beleaguered group of Aedyrans. Though generally straightforward, players will need to gather specific items before ultimately making a critical decision regarding the Aedyrans’ fate. Let’s delve into how you can successfully navigate this quest while making impactful choices.
Initiating the Escape Plan Side Quest in Avowed

You’ll initiate the quest after being resurrected in Liviana’s clinic. As you make your way to the Paradis courtyard, Remei will summon you for a conversation that unveils a troubling situation involving two Aedyrans in dire need of assistance. Accept her request to formally start the Escape Plan quest.
Collecting Thirdborn Land Deeds & Ondra’s Kiss Plant

Before venturing to Shantytown, it’s advisable to secure the essential items necessary for advancing the Escape Plan quest. Start by locating the Thirdborn Land Deed in the Artisan’s District of Paradis City. Simply head to the quest marker and retrieve the deed from a fallen body.
The second item required is the Ondra’s Kiss plant, which can be found just outside of Paradis City. Once you’ve gathered both items, proceed to Shantytown to meet the Aedyrans. Follow the quest marker until you need to navigate to an upper floor; ascend the stairs, utilize the adjacent roof to access the balcony, and enter the room where the Aedyrans are located.
Confronting the Smugglers or Reporting Refugees to Captain Aelfyr

Upon presenting the Land Deed and Ondra’s Kiss to Leoflaed and Glaedwine, they will suggest interacting with the smugglers responsible for transporting refugees to Thirdborn. This moment creates a pivotal choice: report these refugees to Captain Aelfyr or negotiate for their safe passage.
It’s advisable to overlook their dubious past and instead approach the smugglers to organize a safe escape. When you arrive at the quest marker, you will encounter Captain Soldis and possibly Ilora if you previously liberated her from Northreach Fort.
You can opt to either negotiate a fee for their travel arrangements, win over the Captain’s favor with Ilora’s assistance, or choose to engage the smugglers directly. The first two options will facilitate a safe exit for the refugees, while attacking them will jeopardize their chances of leaving Paradis unharmed. After making your decision, be sure to return to Leoflaed and Glaedwine to inform them of the outcome, thereby concluding the Escape Plan quest.
