Avowed: Discover the Location of Captain Henqua’s Treasure Spoils

The Living Lands of Avowed are teeming with mysteries, and one of the first notable adventures you’ll embark on is Captain Henqua’s Spoils, a thrilling treasure hunt that sets the stage for your journey.

As you make your way into Dawnshore, a vast world unfolds before you. At first, the expansive landscape may seem daunting, but you will acclimatize to its intricacies in no time.

While the treasure is located near the designated spot on the treasure map, this guide provides the precise coordinates for Captain Henqua’s Spoils, allowing players to jump straight into the action without unnecessary exploration.

Treasure Map Location

Lighthouse Location in Avowed

Your adventure begins at the Lighthouse, a colossal structure perched on the coastline, situated just to the west of Claviger’s Landing. This is the settlement where your journey in Dawnshore first commences, and where you meet your companion, Kai.

Ascend the Lighthouse until you encounter a skeleton. Next to it lies the treasure map, heralding the start of your chase for Captain Henqua’s hidden treasures.

Instead of backtracking down the lighthouse after securing the map, I highly recommend climbing to the top. There, you will discover Unique-tier greaves and a crucial item for the Totem of Rightful Rulership quest.

Locating the Treasure

The treasure indicated on Captain Henqua’s map is found just east of Old Pargrun Wall, alongside the riverbank, and can be surprisingly easily overlooked.

When examining the map, one might be led to believe that digging will reveal the treasure. However, instead of searching the land, you’ll need to take a plunge into the water. An underwater cavern is tucked beneath the marked location, holding the treasure.

Submerge yourself to locate the entrance of the cave, and once inside, continue swimming until you spot a platform that you can climb onto.

Rewards for Your Quest

purple chest containing the Unique-tier shield, Wind and Wave.

This shield grants a significant boost with +10 Move Speed and +20 resistance to Frost accumulation. It can also be upgraded to a Legendary quality level, making it an excellent choice for players who prefer sword and shield combat in the early stages of the game.

Combining the Wind and Wave shield with one of Avowed’s formidable early-game weapons, such as the Last Light of Day, creates a powerful combat synergy that will serve you well in initial encounters.

The quest concludes automatically once you gather your loot.
