Automate Microsoft Copilot Prompts with the Scheduled Prompts Feature
Microsoft has recently introduced a valuable new capability for enterprise Copilot users, known as Scheduled Prompts. As the title implies, this feature enables users to automate prompts at designated times or intervals, making it ideal for tasks that require repetition. For instance, you could program Copilot to summarize your incoming emails every morning.
After Copilot processes a Scheduled Prompt, the outcomes can be found in your Copilot chat history. The prompts that have recently been executed are displayed in bold, simplifying the identification of the latest results.
Here’s how to set up Scheduled Prompts in Copilot:
- Test Your Prompt: Execute the Copilot prompt that you wish to schedule to confirm that it yields the expected outputs.
- Create a Scheduled Prompt: Move your cursor over the prompt, and you will see three new icons appear in the upper right corner. Click on the “Schedule this prompt”icon to bring up a new window for scheduling.
- Input the Specifications: In the “New scheduled prompt”dialogue, outline how frequently you’d like the prompt to be executed, including the time and any other pertinent information. Currently, prompts can be programmed to run as many as five times, and you can also set reminders for reactivating the prompts if desired.
- Save and Enable: Once you have filled out the details in the “New scheduled prompt”window, click the “Save and activate”button. Your prompt is now scheduled and will operate automatically at the specified times.
- Edit Existing Scheduled Prompts: To update settings for prompts you’ve already scheduled, click on the ellipses in the upper right corner of the Copilot interface and select the “Scheduled prompts”option.
The Scheduled Prompts feature significantly enhances productivity for Copilot users in professional settings. By automating repetitive processes, this function empowers users to concentrate on more strategic and innovative tasks.
