“Atrocious!”— Below Deck Sailing Yacht Viewers Slam Chef Cloyce for Ordering Birthday Cake for Guest

The fourth episode of Season 5 of Below Deck Sailing Yacht premiered on October 28. In this latest installment, Chef Cloyce Martin presented a cake ordered from an external source to celebrate a guest’s birthday.

The charter guest, who was turning 60, opted to host her birthday celebration onboard with fellow guests. Responsible for the culinary offerings and the birthday cake, Chef Cloyce chose a dessert that resembled a loaf of bread and decided to microwave it for added appeal.

However, upon microwaving, the cake crumbled on the counter, resulting in a mess. Daisy, who was supervising the preparations, referred to the cake as “a pile of dog sh*t.”Fans of Below Deck Sailing Yacht took to X to voice their disapproval of Cloyce’s choice to order the cake.

“Why not transform that microwaved catastrophe into handheld cake and ice cream flambé or something creative? Then bake a fresh cake while they celebrate. I don’t know, but that cake was dreadful!”suggested one fan.

“It’s really disappointing to serve a cake in that condition,”commented another viewer.

“How can he salvage that? That melted mess isn’t cake! If you’re going to order a store-bought birthday cake, at least choose one that looks like a cake, not a loaf! Even if he hadn’t ruined it, it still wouldn’t have looked appealing,”a different fan remarked.

When Captain realized Chef Cloyce was playing in the water on Below Deck Sailing Yacht, he expressed frustration and instructed someone to retrieve him. He was concerned that dinner wouldn’t be ready in time for the famished guests upon their return.

The Captain felt Cloyce needed to display greater professionalism and maturity in fulfilling his duties. By around 3:40 pm, the table was set as the guests returned hungry from their swim. They were left waiting while the chef prepared the meal from scratch. Later in the episode, Daisy warned the Captain that Cloyce wouldn’t last much longer at this rate.

When it came time to present the birthday cake, Cloyce confessed he opted for an external order due to his dislike of baking. Daisy commented that the cake resembled a strudel. After attempting to microwave it, the cake fell apart, prompting Daisy to declare it unservable. Despite the mishap, Cloyce reorganized the broken pieces into a semblance of a cake and deemed it ready to serve.
