Upon entering Datlow Hall in Atomfall, players will encounter Prudence, a distraught woman searching for her missing servant, Jenks. She expresses her concern about his unexplained absence and indicates he had traveled to Casterfell Dam some time ago but has not returned.
This sets the stage for your quest: Prudence requests that you venture to Casterfell Dam to locate Jenks and bring him home. While she conveniently marks the location on your map, the challenge lies in actually finding him.
If you find yourself struggling to track down Jenks, rest assured you’re not alone—I faced similar difficulties during my quest!
Locating Jenks in Atomfall
To find Jenks, head to the western section of Casterfell Dam, specifically at coordinates 20.2 E, 90.4 N. There, you’ll discover him lying on the grass next to a gate adorned with electrical circuits.
Regrettably, upon your arrival, you will find that Jenks has met his demise, and revival is not an option. Although he cannot communicate, you can loot his body for a crucial item: a note titled “Send Aid to Datlow Hall.”
This note sheds light on the troubling circumstances surrounding Datlow Hall. It reveals that Lady Charity is gravely ill, prompting Jenks’s desperate search for assistance in healing her. His prolonged absence stems from the inability to find any help, leaving Prudence unable to tend to her own needs in her precarious mental state.
With this newfound information, it’s imperative to return to Prudence and break the heartbreaking news of Jenks’s passing. However, be prepared to stealthily navigate past some enemies positioned near his location as you make your way out of Casterfell Dam.
Exploring the Conservatory
After delivering the unfortunate news about Jenks, Prudence will reward you with the Conservatory Key. It’s wise to utilize this key promptly, as the Conservatory is packed with valuable items nestled within.
You can find the Conservatory in the gardens of Datlow Hall, specifically on the eastern side of the mansion. Inside, you’ll come across a backpack stocked with essential supplies, including bandages and food, as well as a Molotov Cocktail and a Stealth Manual.
Among these, the Stealth Manual proves to be the most advantageous item, enabling you to unlock critical skills on the Skill Tree: Surprise Attack, Quiet Movement, and Quiet Takedown.
- Surprise Attack: Increases damage dealt to unsuspecting enemies.
- Quiet Movement: Diminishes the sound of your footsteps, enhancing stealth capabilities.
- Quiet Takedown: Ensures that takedowns are executed with minimal noise.
Additionally, you will discover a skeleton within the Conservatory—eerily, this skeleton is identified as Lady Charity, the individual referenced in Jenks’s note.
The skeletal remains hint at the length of time she has been gone, which underscores the duration of Jenks’s search for aid and provides crucial insight into Prudence’s deteriorating mental condition.
