ASUS ROG Super Kill 27 Pro PG27AQWP-W: Setting New Standards for Speed and Clarity
About two months back, LG introduced its 4th-generation OLED technology, referred to as the Primary RGB Tandem OLED panel. This advanced panel incorporates four layers for green, blue, and red OLEDs, compared to the traditional three-layer design of prior generations. At this unveiling, LG also showcased their first-ever 720Hz OLED display, which is now making its way into ASUS’s upcoming flagship model, the ROG Super Kill 27 Pro.

ASUS claims the ROG Super Kill 27 Pro as one of the first monitors to employ this cutting-edge 4th-generation OLED technology, as noted by Tony, the General Manager for ASUS in China. While it’s not the inaugural monitor featuring this OLED advancement—LG previously launched the UltraGear 27GX700A with a 280Hz@1440p option—it is the first to offer an astonishing 720Hz at 720p using the latest OLED panel from LG.

The ROG Super Kill 27 Pro was recently revealed, with an official launch expected within the next few days. This monitor is designed to feature top-tier display configurations utilizing the RGB Tandem OLED panel. Not only does it promise elevated visual quality and brightness, but it also delivers the highest refresh rates ever seen across various resolutions. The specifications indicate a dual-mode display: 1440p at 540Hz and 720p sporting a remarkable 720Hz refresh rate.

While LG has also announced a similar 720 Hz OLED capacity, their specifications confirm that this refresh rate could only be achieved at a 1080p resolution. In contrast, the ROG Super Kill 27 Pro is not equipped to support this lower resolution mode. Notably, ASUS will feature the advanced DisplayPort 2.1a UHBR20 port, facilitating remarkable support for high-fidelity visuals, alongside a suite of USB ports for comprehensive connectivity.
The new OLED panel improves upon previous iterations by achieving a remarkably low response time of just 0.02 ms, complemented by certification for True Black HDR 500 to deliver stunning image quality. The global model will be marketed under the name “PG27AQWP-W“, while it will be known as the “ROG Super Kill 27 Pro”within China. Reports indicate a launch date set for November 1, 2025, with a price point of 8, 499 Yuan, which is approximately US$1, 193.
