ASUS Launches ROG Strix OLED XG27ACDMS: A 27-inch 1440p@280Hz Gaming Monitor Priced at Approximately $550 in China
When it comes to gaming monitors, OLED technology tends to be more expensive compared to traditional LCD options like IPS and TN panels. ASUS, a leading manufacturer of high-end OLED displays, is known for offering some of the most premium monitors in the market. Typically, their OLED lineup starts around $700, with popular models such as the ROG Strix XG27AQDMG retailing for over $650.

Following the successful launch of the previous generation, which featured a third-gen WOLED panel capable of a 240Hz refresh rate at 1440p resolution, ASUS has unveiled the ROG Strix OLED XG27ACDMS. This new model employs advanced QD-OLED technology, which allows for an impressive refresh rate of 280Hz while maintaining the 1440p resolution. Priced at 3, 999 Yuan (around US$558), it stands out as the most affordable ROG OLED gaming monitor to date.

For certain markets, the monitor is available at a subsidized rate of just 3, 400 Yuan (approximately US$474), making it the cheapest OLED 2K gaming monitor on the market. With cutting-edge features like True 10-bit color depth, a 99% DCI-P3 color gamut, a rapid response time of 0.03ms, and an impressive color accuracy rating of Delta E<2, the ROG Strix XG27ACDMS is designed to meet the expectations of serious gamers.

In addition to its high-performance specs, the XG27ACDMS introduces the NEO Proximity Sensor, a notable feature that automatically blacks out the screen when the user steps away. This innovative technology is a proactive measure to protect against image burn-in, a concern historically associated with OLED displays. Thanks to advancements in OLED technology, these monitors now demonstrate improved durability against burn-in effects, allowing them to maintain display quality for extended periods.
Furthermore, the ROG Strix XG27ACDMS comes backed by a three-year warranty that specifically includes coverage for panel burn-in. While this model’s specifications are largely aligned with its predecessor, notable differences include enhanced connectivity, with the addition of a USB-C port (DP Alt mode). At present, ASUS has not disclosed when this monitor will be available in markets outside of China, leaving enthusiasts eagerly awaiting further updates.
