ASUS Launches Quad-Slot RTX 5080 Noctua OC Edition: Specifications Revealed for the “Quietest Air-Cooled” RTX 5080

Although the RTX 5080 Noctua OC from ASUS is among the bulkiest graphics cards available, it also boasts remarkable silence and exceptional cooling performance.

Introducing the ASUS GeForce RTX 5080 Noctua OC

Unveiled discreetly at Computex this year, the ASUS GeForce RTX 5080 Noctua OC has garnered attention for its impressive specifications. ASUS has since launched a dedicated product page elaborating on its capabilities. Characterized as one of the thickest GeForce RTX 5080 models, it occupies nearly four slots on a motherboard, primarily due to its innovative use of 2-slot thick NF-A12 120mm fans, renowned for their superior airflow performance.

This GPU is unique, featuring Noctua fans alongside a custom heatsink that emphasizes improved cooling efficiency and silent operation. ASUS markets the RTX 5080 Noctua OC as the “quietest”air-cooled card in its class, crediting its reduced noise to an effective combination of vapor chamber cooling technology paired with Noctua fans. True to Noctua’s reputation, the design may favor functionality over traditional aesthetics, sporting the familiar brown color palette for which the brand is recognized.

Though the RTX 5080 Noctua OC does not lead the pack in clock speeds, its specifications remain competitive, offering a boost clock of 2700 MHz and the capacity for overclocking up to 2730 MHz in OC mode. This clock rate surpasses the Founders Edition by approximately 100 MHz, with further overclocking potential available through manual adjustments.

In terms of design, the RTX 5080 Noctua OC incorporates advanced cooling solutions, including a Phase-change GPU thermal pad. Its sizeable heatsink contributes to an overall length of an impressive 385mm, making it 81mm longer than the Founders Edition and 14mm wider. This increased size may limit compatibility with compact mid-tower cases, but for those with spacious setups, it offers a compelling option for those seeking quiet operation under high loads. However, the comparative noise performance against other RTX 5080 variants remains untested.

Currently, ASUS has not announced availability details or pricing; however, enthusiasts should keep an eye out for updates as the launch date approaches.
