ASUS Launches “Core Tuning Config For Gaming” in AM5 BIOS to Decrease System Latency and Enhance Ryzen CPU Performance

Revolutionizing Gaming Performance: ASUS Introduces “Core Tuning Config for Gaming”

ASUS has unveiled an innovative BIOS feature for its AM5 motherboards, dubbed “Core Tuning Config for Gaming.”This new addition aims to enhance the performance of AMD Ryzen CPUs by reducing latency, ultimately leading to a more immersive gaming experience.

Optimizing Latencies for Superior Gaming

Furthermore, ASUS has expanded its suite of specialized BIOS features aimed at improving the performance of its AM5 motherboard lineup. The “Core Tuning Config for Gaming”is specifically designed to optimize clock (CAS) timings associated with memory and Core Complex Dies (CCDs) on these motherboards. This fine-tuning is expected to yield significant benefits, potentially reducing latency by double digits, an enhancement built upon AMD’s previous AGESA BIOS updates.

Practical Testing: The Impact of Core Tuning

By default, the new feature is set to Auto within the AM5 BIOS panel, allowing users to enable it for potential gaming benefits. In real-world applications, one test system equipped with a Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPU running on a ROG Crosshair X670E Gene motherboard demonstrated noteworthy results:

The testing indicated a latency improvement from 63.9ns to 58.9ns upon enabling the “Core Tuning Config for Gaming,”which translates to a remarkable 8% reduction in overall system latency while maintaining equivalent memory bandwidth. This reduction underscores the importance of latency in gaming, as many titles are capable of capitalizing on lower latency and enhanced system bandwidth.

Available BIOS Versions for AM5 Motherboards

The new ASUS AM5 BIOS feature is currently in BETA, compatible with the entire AM5 motherboard range, including models from the high-end X870E and X670E series. This update forms part of the AGESA 1.2.0.2b BIOS iteration. For users looking to utilize this feature, the following BIOS versions are available:

This significant update from ASUS is an exciting development for gamers looking to optimize their systems for peak performance.
