In just a few days, AMD is set to launch the highly anticipated Radeon RX 9070 GRE, highlighted by ASUS’s introduction of its ATS RX 9070 GRE OC edition.

Introducing the ASUS ATS RX 9070 GRE O12G: A Chinese-Exclusive GPU with Impressive Capabilities

AMD has a history of releasing its GRE (Golden Rabbit Edition) graphics cards exclusively for the Chinese market. This trend continues with the launch of the Radeon RX 9070 GRE, which marks the debut of the RDNA 4 architecture within China’s GPU landscape. Previous generations, such as the RX 6750 GRE, RX 7600 GRE, and RX 7900 GRE, have followed a similar path, emphasizing AMD’s commitment to this regional strategy.

Though the RX 7900 GRE is known to have made it to global markets, the likelihood of the RX 9070 GRE appearing outside of China remains uncertain. Notably, the official launch page for the ATS RX 9070 GRE O12G has been spotted on ASUS’s website, as highlighted by industry insider @momomo_us. This custom edition has already appeared on Chinese retail platforms like JD and is scheduled for release on May 8th.

The specifications for this card reveal a cut-down NAVI 48 die architecture equipped with 3072 Stream Processors. It features an impressive 12 GB of GDDR6 VRAM and operates at a Total Board Power (TBP) of 220W. Factory overclocked, the GPU can reach speeds up to 2880 MHz in OC mode, and it requires a robust power supply solution with two 8-pin PCI-E connectors and a minimum recommended capacity of 750W.

While detailed benchmarks are still forthcoming, early indications suggest that the RX 9070 GRE might not match the performance levels of the RX 9070. However, it is expected to significantly outperform the RX 9060 XT, which is limited to just 8 GB of VRAM. Upon its release, the RX 9070 GRE will carry a starting price of 4, 199 RMB. The ASUS ATS RX 9070 GRE is initially priced at 4, 499 RMB, though customers can take advantage of a promotional pre-order price of 4, 476 RMB.

Factoring in a reduced 20% VAT, the effective price drops to approximately 3, 359 RMB or around $450, making it a more budget-friendly option compared to the RX 9070’s official MSRP, which is nearly $100 higher.
