For hardware enthusiasts looking to build a multi-GPU workstation, the newly launched ASUS power supply unit (PSU) lineup is a compelling option. With various wattage capacities, this range is tailored to help users create budget-friendly yet powerful setups.
ASUS Unveils PRO WS Platinum PSU Series with Advanced Compatibility
ASUS, a leading name in the hardware industry, has introduced its latest high-end power supply series, the Pro WS Platinum, which is designed to deliver peak performance for demanding professional tasks. The Pro WS Platinum series supports multiple high-performance GPUs, including the RTX 5080 and RTX 5090, comprising three different wattage models.

The Pro WS Platinum series is available in capacities of 1600W, 2200W, and 3000W, and includes the latest ATX 3.1 and PCIe 5.1 standards to ensure compatibility with cutting-edge graphics cards such as the GeForce RTX 5090 and RTX PRO 6000. Each PSU is constructed with high-quality etched cables featuring gold-plated copper pins, while color-coded EPS and 12V-2×6 connectors facilitate easy, reliable connections to motherboards and GPUs.

These PSUs are fully modular, allowing users to connect only the necessary cables, resulting in a clean and organized system. The 3000W model can efficiently support up to four GeForce RTX 5090 or RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell GPUs, while the 2200W version can handle up to four RTX 5080 GPUs. Additionally, to ensure sustained performance under heavy loads, the power supplies are equipped with extruded aluminum heatsinks and well-ventilated chassis for optimal heat dissipation.

ASUS boasts that the gold-plated copper pins in the 12V-2×6 connectors can lower connector temperatures by up to 10°C, enhancing reliability during operation. Furthermore, these PSUs are rated at 80 Plus Platinum, achieving approximately 94% efficiency at typical loads and exceeding 90% efficiency under full utilization. Such specifications make them highly suitable for high-performance builds and professional workstations. To reinforce user confidence, ASUS offers a generous 10-year warranty with these power supplies.
The pricing for the PSU models starts at 479 Euros (approximately US$552) for the 1600W variant, 619 Euros (around US$713) for the 2200W version, and culminates at 899 Euros (approximately US$1036) for the flagship 3000W model. Currently, these power supplies are available for purchase in select EU regions, including Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, although ASUS has yet to announce broader global availability.
