Astroneer Glitchwalkers Expansion Set for November Release Date

Astroneer Glitchwalkers Expansion Set for November Release Date

In an exciting development, System Era Softworks revealed in September the first expansion for Astroneer, titled Glitchwalkers. This expansion introduces an exhilarating new planet rich with unique biomes, innovative technology, and an array of fresh features. Today, the studio confirmed the release date for Astroneer: Glitchwalkers, which is set for November 13.

Players can expect to face heightened challenges on the newly introduced planet, Aeoluz. This will be the largest world ever integrated into Astroneer, nestled within a new “glitched solar system.”The surface of Aeoluz will boast diverse biomes, along with intriguing caves located beneath its surface. A glimpse of these elements can be seen in the most recent trailer shared by the developer, linked below:

As part of this expansion, Astroneer will introduce its first official antagonist—Lyn, who is characterized as a “disgruntled member of the ESS Elysium crew.”Having gone rogue, Lyn poses a threat to the Astroneer Training Programs with her mischievous activities. Players will ally with Frankl, the Head of Maintenance from Elysium, to counter Lyn’s threats by hacking back and dismantling her firewalls to restore the ATP.

In addition to the Glitchwalkers expansion, System Era is also rolling out a significant update for existing base game players at no extra cost. This update includes new gameplay enhancements, quality improvements, and numerous bug fixes.

A key feature making a comeback in this update is storms. Previously one of the most perilous elements in the game, capable of damaging players, displacing resources, and overturning vehicles, storms were omitted from Astroneer after its early access phase. Years later, this feature will return to both the expansion and the base game’s planets.

The release of the Astroneer: Glitchwalkers expansion is scheduled for November 13 on platforms including PC, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. While a Nintendo Switch version was initially mentioned, its release will take place at a later date.
