Astro Bot: Comprehensive Thrust or Bust Game Guide

The second wave of Astro Bot downloadable content (DLC) is elevating the challenge considerably, especially with the stage titled Thrust or Bust. This level is already deemed one of the most difficult in the game, posing formidable obstacles for players aiming to rescue the VIP bot awaiting at the end. Mastery of these stages will demand heightened skill and strategy.

True to its name, Thrust or Bust requires players to effectively utilize the dog power-up to navigate through an intricate and perilous course. In the guide below, we will explore several pitfalls and strategies while highlighting the rewards—most notably, the Thrust or Bust Cameo Bot available upon completion.

Mastering Thrust or Bust

First and foremost, players should initiate their journey by charging into the two bell enemies. This action triggers the movement of sea urchin-like obstacles. If executed promptly, players can then glide directly into the blue dog panel after dispatching the second bell. Be aware of a yellow spiky enemy above; it can be easily avoided or dealt with by punching.

As players continue, they will encounter two spinning logs. Notably, a large purple spitter is positioned on the first log. Rather than attempting a tricky jump between the logs, it’s more efficient to transition directly to the yellow dog panel, ensuring to punch the purple spitter in transit. Following this, utilizing a blue bounce pad is essential to reach the nearby leaf platform.

When faced with spinning green vines, instead of jumping, players should opt to run around to the left. By maintaining momentum, they can evade the spitter and reach a glass platform. From here, boosting into the wall tunnel is next, all while avoiding the swirling purple vines.

Inside the tunnel, a green spitter awaits. Players can circle around it to reach the blue dog panel. The following segment involves navigating several more glass panels and steering clear of additional spinning vines—players should prepare for an encounter with small, explosive foes on the second glass panel. A well-timed spin jump will help them escape unscathed.

Continuing ahead, players will face two yellow spiky enemies. By either dodging or spin-punching these threats and jumping onto a blue bounce pad, they can then boost into or beyond a bell to reach another bounce pad. Depending on their timing thus far, players will need to make a split-second decision to head left or right toward the blue dog panel.

The penultimate challenge comes as giant sea urchin-like foes hurl toward Astro. Players must adroitly boost from one platform to the next to avoid them. After navigating these obstacles, another blue bounce pad will allow access to floating green platforms adorned with bells. Players can either dodge or directly collide with the first two bells, but they must definitely hit the last bell to make the finishing platform manifest.
