Ubisoft Unveils Fall Roadmap for Assassin’s Creed Shadows

Ubisoft continues to enhance its Assassin’s Creed franchise with the announcement of a comprehensive fall roadmap for Assassin’s Creed Shadows. This exciting update, which includes a variety of new features and improvements, is particularly notable for its upcoming release on the Nintendo Switch 2. Fans can check out the latest trailer linked above for a sneak peek.

Upcoming Updates and Enhancements

The first of several planned updates is set to launch on October 28. One significant addition is an upgrade to the parkour mechanics, introducing a new toggle for Advanced Parkour. This feature empowers players by allowing them to jump off from climbing surfaces at any height, providing enhanced mobility and freedom during gameplay.

According to Ubisoft, “The vertical ledge grab in regular parkour will now function in a wider range of situations, including interactions with non-standing objects, with or without the advanced parkour toggle enabled.”Additionally, the upcoming update will introduce a beam manual jump option and will reinstate the sought-after directional catch ledge mechanic.

New Gameplay Activities

Alongside these mechanics, players will encounter a new activity called Corrupted Castles, which features twisted takes on existing castle designs, challenging players to navigate through them in innovative ways.

A Fresh Narrative Experience

Following this initial update, the next wave will be released on November 25, bringing the third installment of the storyline titled A Puzzlement. This quest is expected to have a light-hearted tone, reminiscent of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, featuring returning foes from the character Naoe’s history. The interaction between characters will also play a pivotal role, presenting opportunities for skill exchange:

  • Naoe will acquire a magnificent version of Yasuke’s signature war kick ability.
  • Yasuke will learn the art of stealthy, non-lethal enemy takedowns.

Launch on Nintendo Switch 2

Mark your calendars for December 2, as Assassin’s Creed Shadows will officially debut on the Nintendo Switch 2. This version will initially include all the post-launch updates available on other platforms. However, the Claws of Awaji expansion will follow at a later date. Notably, the Switch 2 version will also integrate touchscreen functionality for features such as the world map, store, and hideout.
