Assassin’s Creed Shadows: Complete Walkthrough for Friend of My Enemy Mission

The “Friend of My Enemy”quest within Assassin’s Creed Shadows centers around Naoe as she seeks vital intelligence to locate her next target. This mission, although brief, plays a crucial role in the overarching narrative that leads to Naoe’s pursuit of Oba Nobunaga, a formidable adversary linked to her father’s demise.

Detailed Walkthrough for the Friend of My Enemy Quest

Your adventure begins by speaking with Tomiko at the Hideout. She will advise you that your best course of action is to arrange a meeting with Mitsuhide, who poses a significant threat. Despite the risks, Naoe decides to proceed with the meeting, but we first need to pinpoint his whereabouts.

Locating Mitsuhide

The game offers a crucial hint: Mitsuhide resides in Katano Castle, Settsu. Utilize your Scouts in this area to establish a waypoint (refer to the corresponding image above for guidance). If you are short on Scouts, you may restock at the Kakurega in your Hideout for a fee of 200 mon.

Upon your arrival at Katano Castle, you’ll find that you can enter without issue. Contrary to expectations, the area is not heavily restricted, and guards will not obstruct your entry. However, maintain a low profile and avoid provoking the guards—refrain from swinging weapons or making unnecessary contact with them.

Inside the castle, activate the Observe feature to identify a small blue dot indicating Mitsuhide’s location. He is situated within a modest structure on the castle’s northwestern side.

Engaging with Mitsuhide

Your conversation with Mitsuhide will present various dialogue options. Initially, he claims insight into Naoe’s intentions, prompting your potential responses: “You know a lot”or “You know nothing.”He further reveals knowledge of Naoe’s father and his murder, to which you can choose to respond with “I believe you”or “I don’t believe you.”

It’s essential to note that while your dialogue choices do not alter the mission’s outcome or narrative trajectory, they influence the subsequent dialogue from Mitsuhide. Hence, feel free to engage in some role-playing. For a more fearless portrayal of Naoe, you might choose to challenge Mitsuhide; conversely, adopting an innocent persona could lead you to agree with his statements.

Ultimately, surprising as it may be, Mitsuhide will offer his assistance to Naoe. He delegates the task of connecting her with Oba Nobunaga to his son-in-law and co-conspirator, Lord Ise Sadaoki. Their aid will open doors for Naoe to infiltrate Honnoji, thus leading into the next primary quest, “Belly of the Beast.”
