ARC Raiders may not be the most user-friendly game available, and while I personally enjoy it, I understand that some of its features can be confusing. This is especially true when attempting to coordinate with friends in a squad, particularly through crossplay functionalities. Don’t fret, fellow Raiders! This guide will provide you with all the steps necessary to team up seamlessly with your friends in the game.
To begin your journey together, it’s essential to complete the mandatory solo tutorial at the game’s start. Only after this can you venture into multiplayer modes and play alongside friends.
Accessing the Party Squad Menu
After completing the solo introduction in ARC Raiders, you can start your next run whenever you’d like. You have the option to play solo, with random players, or join up with friends. To jump directly into a co-op session with your buddies, head to the “Play”tab at the top of your screen. Click the plus sign located just above the “Play”button in the lower right corner to bring up the party menu.
Your friends who are currently active on the same platform will automatically display on this menu. For example, if you’re on PlayStation, all of your PSN friends playing ARC will be conveniently listed here.
Simply select the friend you wish to team up with and click “Invite To Party.”Just like that, you’re set!
How to Add Friends
If you find you need to add friends to your list, perhaps because they’re on a different console like Xbox or Steam while you’re playing on PS5, the process is straightforward. On your PS5, press and hold Triangle to bring up the option to add a friend; each console will have its version of this command, and the prompt will direct you accordingly.
Make sure to communicate outside of the game to get your friend’s Embark username, and type it in to send a friendship request. It’s crucial to receive their hashtag and the four-digit code that follows their username to complete the process.
If you enjoyed playing with a random in-game and want to add them, you can always do so if you find their username – just remember to check your “Requests”tab periodically for any incoming friend requests.
How to Share Your Embark Username
There might be times when you need to provide your Embark username to a friend. This can be somewhat tricky if you’re not sure how to access it. By default, your username will appear as Username#XXXX, but the final four digits must be visible for friends to add you successfully.
To view your complete username, click on your profile name and select “Show Discriminator.”This action will reveal your username as Username#1234 (with unique digits for your account).Share this detailed username with your friends so they can send you a request.
Understanding Crossplay Settings
If you encounter difficulties adding friends on different platforms, check your crossplay settings. From the party formation screen, navigate to “Settings.”
In the “Online”section, ensure the “Crossplay”option is toggled on. This adjustment will allow you to play with anyone, regardless of the console they’re using.
How to Launch a Game with Your Squad
Once your friends have been invited, accepted the request, and are in your game, you can exit the party menu. Simply hit “Play”to embark on a new mission with your squad.
If you’re teaming up with just one friend and prefer not to be matched with a random third player, ensure the “Fill Squad”option is toggled to “Off”located just above the “Play”button. Conversely, if you’d like to play with an additional random player, turn “Fill Squad”to “On.”
Select your desired map, and get ready to loot and conquer together!
