Arc Browser Adds Support for Windows on ARM Devices

At a recent event focused on Windows, Microsoft unveiled the new Windows 11 version 24H2 along with exciting AI features for Copilot+ PCs. During this presentation, the company also announced that several new applications would soon be available natively on Windows. Among these applications is the Arc browser—a distinctive alternative to popular options like Chrome and Microsoft Edge. Windows on ARM users can now access an ARM-specific version of Arc.

Today, the Browser Company, the team behind the development of the Arc browser, launched an updated version tailored for Windows users. According to their announcement:

As of today, Arc can be installed on any ARM devices you own, and you can also share it with friends using Windows ARM by directing them to the Download Arc for Windows button at arc.net.

The latest version’s changelog is brief; nonetheless, the key highlight is the inclusion of support for Windows on ARM. Here are the details from the changelog:

This release brings minor yet significant updates along with an eagerly anticipated announcement:

  • Support for ARM processors in Arc on Windows is now available.
  • Steve resolved an issue that caused crashes when a tab was dragged to open a new Arc window or moved between two Arc windows.
  • Arc Search is now accessible on Android for versions 12 and up! You can join the open beta by downloading it here!

You can obtain the Arc browser directly from the official website. It is compatible with both Windows 10 and 11, now including ARM-based PCs like the latest models featuring Snapdragon X processors. You don’t need to own the Surface Pro 11 or Surface Laptop 11 to enjoy Arc’s enhancements for ARM devices; users with older models, such as the Surface Pro X or Surface Pro 9 5G, will also notice improvements in speed and energy efficiency.
