Apple has announced that it will add Disney Melee Mania from Mighty Bear Games to its gaming subscription service, Apple Arcade, coming December. The teams will feature Pixar and Disney characters, and fight in a “never-before-seen virtual arena”. Each player will select their holographic hero, ranging from Buzz Lightyear, Moana, and Frozone, to Mickey Mouse, Elsa, and Wreck-It Ralph, to battle in 3 versus 3 matches.
CEO of Mighty Bear Games, Simon Davis stated:
We’re thrilled to work with Disney to bring these beloved characters to the first-ever Disney and Pixar battle arena game, available exclusively on Apple Arcade. Fans will compete with arcade-style Disney and Pixar champions in a fun and frenzied all-out brawl to survive the chaotic melee and stay in the spotlight.
Other than 12 champions for the players to choose from, Disney Melee Mania will also get new characters regularly. Players will participate in multi-player battles, that feature multiple modes and challenges, to earn in-game rewards from events. They will also be able to use their own set of moves and unlockable cosmetics in the games.
Senior Director of Apple Arcade, Alex Rofman stated:
Players will find endless gaming options on Apple Arcade to keep them entertained on all their favorite devices this holiday season, from classic titles like ‘Crossy Road Castle’ and ‘Solitaire’ to creative new games like ‘Disney Melee Mania’ and ‘LEGO Star Wars: Castaways.’ Best of all, Apple Arcade delivers a worry-free uninterrupted gaming service, allowing families to simply enjoy fun and exciting gameplay experiences, all with no ads or in-app purchases.
On Friday, the 19th of November, Apple Arcade will also get Lego Star Wars: Castaways as part of its weekly content updates. Apple’s gaming subscription service is available for $4.99 (US) per month and offers a one-month free trial as well for new users. It is also a part of Apple One Individual ($14.95), Family ($19.95), and Premier ($29.95) monthly plans, with a one-month free trial.
