Despite the high entry cost, users are dissatisfied for a variety of reasons beyond price. One major complaint is the discomfort associated with extended usage. The headset weighs between 600 and 650 grams, rendering it heavier than its competitors and leading to fatigue after about an hour of wear.

Tovia Goldstein, a 24-year-old New York City resident, noted that the uncomfortable fit and restricted app ecosystem significantly limited his viewing experience. Additional criticisms include a sluggish startup time for accessing the visionOS App Store, as well as delays when booting up the device to connect it with its external battery puck. Analysts like Ming-Chi Kuo of TF International Securities previously indicated that the initial price would hinder the success of the Apple Vision Pro, suggesting that a lack of diverse use cases and insufficient apps could further exacerbate the situation and lead to higher return rates for these devices.
