Amazon has officially declared that the Apple TV+ service will be integrated into Prime Video in the United States. This feature can be accessed through an additional monthly subscription priced at $9.99.
Later this month, subscribers will have the opportunity to access Apple TV+ via Prime Video without the need for extra applications, utilizing their existing billing under Prime Video. Members will also retain the flexibility to cancel their subscription whenever they choose. Just like Apple TV+, Prime Video currently offers over 100 add-on subscription choices within the US, providing viewers with a diverse array of content that can be accessed on various devices through the Prime Video platform.
Mike Hopkins, the Senior Vice President and Head of Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios, commented:
“At Prime Video, we strive to be the ultimate entertainment hub, showcasing a vast array of premium content, which includes Originals from Amazon MGM Studios, live sports events, and licensed films and series. Our extensive library boasts the largest collection of titles available for rent or purchase, along with more than 100 additional streaming subscriptions. As we continually enhance our offerings, enabling customers to customize their viewing experience all within one app, we are excited to include Apple TV+ along with its beloved and critically acclaimed shows, films, and events.”
Eddy Cue, Apple’s Senior Vice President of Services, expressed:
“Our goal is to ensure that Apple TV+ and its award-winning catalog of series and films, crafted by some of the finest storytellers, reach a wide audience. We are excited that Apple TV+ will now be available on Prime Video, providing viewers with an expansive range of entertainment options.”
The content from Apple TV+ is distinguished by its exceptional production quality. Although the library consists of a relatively limited collection of original materials, Apple Original films, series, and documentaries have garnered a remarkable total of 516 awards and received 2,308 nominations. Notably, the show Ted Lasso has clinched multiple Emmy awards, while the film CODA won the prestigious Oscar for Best Picture.
