In his latest “Power On”newsletter from Bloomberg, Mark Gurman has provided exciting insights regarding Apple’s future, particularly focusing on their product launch plans for 2026 and the upcoming iOS 26.2 beta release.
Apple’s Ambitious Plans for 2026: Up to 15 New Products
The year 2026 is set to be a watershed moment for Apple, potentially featuring a flurry of product innovations if Gurman’s predictions hold true.
During the early months of 2026, Gurman foresees Apple unveiling the following products:
- iPhone 17e
 - 12th-generation iPad equipped with A18 chip
 - M4 iPad Air model
 - M5 MacBook Air
 - M5 Pro MacBook Pro
 - M5 Max MacBook Pro
 - New external display units
 
Following this, between March and April, Apple is expected to introduce:
- A revamped Siri platform, rebranded as Apple Intelligence, which will include:
 
- In-app Actions: Siri will execute context-sensitive commands within supported apps to enhance user experience, such as adding items to shopping lists or sending messages.
 - Personal Context Awareness: Siri will utilize personal data to suggest tailored services, like locating specific podcasts in text conversations.
 - On-Screen Awareness: The AI will gain the capability to comprehend on-screen content and execute relevant tasks.
 
As fall approaches, Apple is rumored to launch:
- The iPhone 18 lineup
 - Its first foldable iPhone
 - Updated Apple Watch models
 
Additional potential product introductions in 2026 may include:
- Smart home security cameras
 - M5 Mac mini
 - New Mac Studio
 - iPad mini featuring an OLED display (the OLED iPad Pro is projected for 2027)
 - M6 Pro MacBook Pro with an OLED touchscreen
 - M6 Max MacBook Pro with an OLED touchscreen
 - AI-driven smart glasses
 
Upcoming iOS 26.2 Beta Launch
In another noteworthy update, Gurman believes that Apple will launch the iOS 26.2 beta next Tuesday, right after the public release of iOS 26.1 on Monday.
The newly released iOS 26.1 brings several enhancements, including:
- A toggle feature for the Liquid Glass effect.
 - Enhanced Apple Intelligence, now including Live Translation support for Chinese, Japanese, and Korean languages.
 - Initial framework for a Model Context Protocol (MCP), enabling various third-party AI systems to communicate with Apple’s services seamlessly.
 - Improved Liquid Glass effect for the dialer keypad.
 - A dedicated scrubber for managing photos and videos.
 - Swipe functionality to change tracks in Apple Music.
 - A refreshed Apple TV icon.
 - New settings to prioritize notification forwarding.
 - An assortment of fresh wallpapers.
 - Expanded Local Capture feature from iPadOS, allowing users to record their audio and video during calls.
 - The option to disable the camera swipe gesture on the lock screen, preventing accidental launches.
 - Support for additional languages in Apple Intelligence, including Chinese (traditional), Danish, Dutch, Norwegian, Portuguese (Portugal), Swedish, Turkish, and Vietnamese.
 - Expansion of the AirPods Live Translation feature to cover more languages, including Mandarin (both simplified and traditional), Italian, Japanese, and Korean.
 - Renaming of Apple TV+ to simply Apple TV.
