Apple Rebranding iPhone SE 4 to iPhone 16E: Expected Features Include iPhone 14-Inspired Design, OLED Display, Two Color Variants, and Action Button

The anticipated release of the iPhone SE 4 could take place in early 2025, likely during the spring season. This upcoming model is rumored to showcase a refreshed design and introduce support for Apple’s cutting-edge artificial intelligence features. Speculation suggests that Apple may be rebranding the iPhone SE series to enhance its appeal, leading to chatter around a potential new name: the iPhone 16E. This rebranding aims to align it more closely with Apple’s broader product lineup.

Transformation of the iPhone SE: What to Expect from the iPhone 16E

If these rumors hold true, Apple might adopt a strategy similar to that of Google, which has effectively launched its budget-friendly ‘a’ series shortly after unveiling premium devices. Insights from tipped sources, notably Majin Bu on X, indicate that the next model could indeed be named the iPhone 16E. Additional details regarding the budget-friendly device have emerged, reinforcing previous rumors about its design and display features.

According to Majin Bu, the iPhone 16E is expected to mirror the design aesthetic of the iPhone 14, integrating a smaller notch and boasting a larger 6.1-inch OLED display. This upgrade is significant, as it marks a transition from the LCD screen of the iPhone SE 3 to the more advanced OLED technology. With the introduction of the iPhone 16E, Apple will have fully transitioned its iPhone line to OLED displays.

Furthermore, it has been reported that the iPhone 16E will be available in only two color options: Black and White, with no additional special editions planned. Notably, this model is expected to include the newly introduced Action Button, which debuted with the iPhone 15 Pro. While other features may be reserved for the premium models, the addition of the Action Button could enhance the user experience significantly.

The iPhone 16E is also projected to be powered by the A18 or the A17 Pro chip, paired with 8GB of RAM. This configuration is expected to ensure that the device is fully optimized for Apple Intelligence right out of the box. By its launch, the forthcoming iOS 18 is anticipated to support a variety of new features, enhancing functionality and user experience. Although leaked renders align with previous descriptions, it’s important to approach the news with caution, as there remains no definitive evidence confirming the device’s naming or specific features.
