Apple Phase Out Three Older Apple Watch Models as SE 3, Series 11, and Ultra 3 Take Center Stage

The company clearly aimed to enhance its smartwatch offerings, introducing major health feature advancements with the Apple Watch Series 11, Ultra Watch 3, and Apple Watch SE 3, while simultaneously phasing out some of their older models.

Discontinuation of Previous Apple Watch Models

The announcement of the new smartwatch lineup included the Apple Watch SE 3, Series 11, and Ultra 3, which also brings an end to the availability of older models such as the Apple Watch SE 2, Series 10, and Ultra 2. Launched in September 2022, the Apple Watch SE 2 quickly became popular among budget-conscious consumers. It boasted the S8 chip, marking a significant performance boost for users. The model also featured a durable nylon composite case back. However, with the introduction of the SE 3, which is equipped with the more advanced S10 chip and improved battery life, Apple has officially discontinued the SE 2 model.

Similarly, the Ultra 2 was released in September 2023, designed with outdoor enthusiasts in mind. Its enhancements included a brighter display and a rugged design, along with the S9 chip for improved performance. The introduction of gesture control through Double Tap made it more user-friendly, yet the new Ultra 3 model has resulted in the retirement of the Ultra 2.

In addition, the Apple Watch Series 10, which was launched just last year with a sleek new design and a slimmer profile, has also been discontinued. Despite its advancements, the Series 11 has now emerged as the new leader in the lineup, rendering the earlier Series 10 model unavailable. The latest offerings are now available for pre-order, showcasing significant internal and external enhancements.
