According to noted tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo, the iPhone 17e is set to launch in the spring of 2026. It is expected to maintain a 6.1-inch LTPS OLED display but with a modest refresh rate of 60Hz, which may be disappointing for many users.

For comparison, the base model of the iPhone 17 is already equipped with a ProMotion display that operates at a stunning 120Hz, offering a far superior experience for scrolling and dynamic content.

Additionally, the iPhone 17e will feature the A19 chip, delivering an estimated 5-10% performance boost over the A18 chip found in the iPhone 16e. This enhancement in processing speed aims to improve overall user experience and functionality.

As reported, the iPhone 17e is likely in the mass production phase, following recent insights indicating that production would commence post-CES 2026, which takes place in early January.

Expectations include integration of the C1-series modem, bypassing the N1 chip, alongside features such as “magnetic wireless charging, ”a 12MP front-facing camera, Face ID, and a robust 48MP rear camera.

As for pricing, analysts predict that the iPhone 17e will retain the same starting price of $599 as the iPhone 16e, with the possibility of Apple enhancing the model by increasing the base storage capacity to 256GB.
