Apple CEO Calls iPhone Launches an ‘Out-of-Body Experience’
The preorder phase for Apple’s highly anticipated iPhone 16 series kicked off on September 13, with the official shipping of the devices commencing on Friday, September 20. As custom dictates, enthusiastic Apple fans queued outside Apple Stores to be among the first to experience the latest iPhone models.
Late-night talk show host Jimmy Fallon also joined the throngs of Apple customers at the iconic Fifth Avenue Apple Store to purchase an iPhone 16. Notably, Jimmy Fallon’s new iPhone was handed over to him by none other than Apple CEO Tim Cook. Following this memorable exchange, the duo strolled through New York City, sharing insights about the iPhone 16 launch and discussing novel initiatives such as Apple Intelligence. During their walk, Fallon utilized one of the new models—most likely the iPhone 16 Pro Max—to document their conversation.
Tim Cook conveyed his commitment to attending launches at the Fifth Avenue location, describing it as “sort of the center of the world.”When asked about the palpable enthusiasm from customers, Cook remarked, “It’s an out-of-body experience,”and emphasized that the overwhelming affection is directed toward Apple, with him merely serving as the figurehead.
Curious about what thrilled Cook the most about the latest iPhone models, Jimmy Fallon inquired, to which the Apple CEO replied, “I’m excited about all of it, to be honest. Apple Intelligence is launching next month, in October, and it will introduce features like email summarization, which is a game changer for me, considering I receive hundreds of emails daily.”
Apple Intelligence is set to be a major highlight of the iPhone 16 series. While a broader rollout is slated for October, some functionalities, such as the Clean Up photo tool and various writing enhancements, are currently available following the release of the iOS 18.1 beta. Moreover, Apple’s AI toolkit is also accessible on the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max models.
