“Apology from Hajar to Simo for Bachelorette Party Remarks on Love Is Blind Habibi: ‘It Won’t Happen Again’”

Audiences of reality television were introduced to “Love Is Blind Habibi,”a captivating new series where unattached Arab singles embark on a quest to discover their true love through intimate conversations in the pods. The show premiered on October 10, 2024, showcasing participants from MENA nations such as Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Lebanon, Jordan, Tunisia, Iraq, and Syria.

The ensemble cast of “Love Is Blind Habibi” consists of Karma, Ammar, Dounia, Chafic, Mohammad, Safa, Rami, Hajar, Asma, Karim, Sarah, Khatab, Yasmin, Mido, Nour, Ali, Aljawharah, Simo, Shereen, and Friend.

Throughout their time in the pods, some singles found joy in forming profound connections, while others struggled to interact with their peers. One notable participant, Simo, notably walked away several times after feeling discomfort with the remarks made by some women.

By the third episode, despite his initial strong opinions, Simo connected with Hajar, leading to a two-hour deep discussion in the pod. What began as an enjoyable exchange took a turn when Simo presented Hajar with a heartfelt handwritten poem. As their conversation unfolded, Hajar steered the dialogue towards the topic of a bachelorette party, leading to a clash between the two.

Hajar expressed a desire for something adventurous, sharing her wish to sample cake before starting a diet. This sentiment deeply troubled Simo, who felt that such frivolity contradicted his principles. Recognizing her misstep, Hajar promptly apologized.

“I apologize for mentioning something so trivial… I truly hope to keep a positive atmosphere between us. I promise it won’t recur,”Hajar expressed.

Simo and Hajar reconcile and progress in “Love Is Blind Habibi”

Eventually, the couple reconciled, as Simo highlighted their common ground, including shared nationalities and backgrounds with divorced parents. Simo then proposed to Hajar, who joyfully accepted, joining the ranks of five couples who became engaged during the show. They then proceeded to a romantic retreat together.

In the fourth episode titled “Catching Up With Cupid,”Hajar expressed her aspiration to relocate to Dubai after marriage, which raised concerns for Simo, who wished for her to stay in Morocco given his family’s business ties. Conversely, Hajar explained that her family resided in Morocco and desired independence.

Frustration ensued as Hajar perceived Simo’s responses to be overly idealistic, accusing him of possessing a significant ego. Simo candidly acknowledged this critique and conveyed a willingness to work on it moving forward. Tensions escalated when Hajar made a sardonic remark about the waitress for an order delay, prompting Simo to label the comment as impolite, declaring he would walk away if such behavior recurred.

On a different outing, the couple clashed once more when Simo declared that Hajar would be prohibited from going out at night. He failed to grasp why they couldn’t enjoy their nights together as a married couple. Ultimately, their relationship reached its breaking point when Simo left the retreat without informing Hajar of his departure.

For those interested, “Love Is Blind Habibi”can be streamed exclusively on Netflix.
