Overview of Apex Legends Season 24
- Apex Legends Season 24 introduces significant buffs for weapons, updates for Armor and Helmets, and the innovative Arsenals feature.
- Popular Legends such as Ash receive key enhancements, focusing on abilities like Arc Snare and Phase Breach.
- The Support class has been toned down to promote teamwork, alongside new Ranked challenges and various bug fixes.
Respawn Entertainment recently launched Apex Legends Season 24 Takeover patch notes, featuring a wide array of weapon buffs, Armor and Helmet updates, and the new Arsenals mechanic. Season 24 also rolls out a revamped Ranked system for both newcomers and returning players, equipped with numerous fixes to enhance gameplay experience.
Since its inception, Apex Legends has established itself as a prominent contender within the battle royale genre, standing tall against giants like PUBG and Fortnite. This live-service game continues to evolve through regular updates that introduce fresh content and experiences. The developers at Respawn Entertainment are not done yet, as they have plans for a major 2.0 patch aimed at further enriching the Apex Legends universe.
With the launch of Season 24, players can explore Arsenals—designated stations with fixed locations throughout every map, allowing simpler access to weapons and ammunition. Additionally, the Assault class receives an upgrade, enabling players to carry more ammo, enjoy additional grenade slots, and maintain access to Red Extended Supply Bins.

Focusing on Legend updates, Ash stands out this season with significant improvements to her Arc Snare and Phase Breach abilities. Notably, Arc Snare can now withstand more damage and is immune to various instant-destroy abilities. Phase Breach sees an increase in range and speed, enhanced visibility indicates max range, and players can execute an extra dash charge once Ash reaches level 3. Additionally, while airborne, pressing the “Jump” button enables a dash maneuver for tactical repositioning.
Changes to the support role have resulted in the removal of the ability to heal more than once using small med kits or gain speed boosts while healing. These adjustments reflect Respawn’s goal of fostering a more team-centric playstyle for Supports, rather than merely making them resilient. Furthermore, a comprehensive new set of Ranked challenges has been introduced, which players must complete prior to engaging in Ranked matches.

In addition to these features, Season 24 debuts a Bot Royale tutorial, various gameplay modes, map improvements, and quality-of-life enhancements, alongside crucial audio and visual adjustments. A multitude of bugs have also been resolved, ensuring a smoother player experience as they delve into the exciting new aspects of the game.
Apex Legends Season 24 Takeover Patch Notes
Balance Updates
Care Package Adjustments
- The R-99 has returned to floor loot (further balance details below).
- The Peacekeeper has been added to the Care Package (further balance details below).
Gold Weapon Rotation
- Gold variants include the Alternator, R-99, Wingman, 30-30 Repeater, and Rampage LMG.
EVO Changes
- Players can now achieve a maximum EVO level of 3 (Purple Armor), with the following adjustments:
- Red Armor is no longer attainable through leveling.
- The EVO points required to reach Level 3 have increased to 1700 (previously 1350).
Dev Note: The introduction of Red Armor previously created large health disparities mid-to-late game, encouraging players to avoid encounters and farm damage. By capping the EVO progression and points required to reach maximum level, players can now focus more on combat rather than resource accumulation.
Accelerated Weapon Modifications
- In Mixtape Modes, assists with an Accelerated Weapon equipped will no longer provide an additional 30% ultimate charge.
Gameplay Updates
Introduction of Arsenals
These stations allow players to conveniently access weapons and ammunition of choice.
- Fixed-location stations available across all Points of Interest (POIs) on every map.
- Ammo types are randomized with each match.
- Featuring an enhancement terminal that upgrades one weapon corresponding to the ammunition type provided at the Arsenal.
- The enhancement offers an upgraded attachment and provides an optic if one is missing.
Healing Mechanics
- Med Kit completion time has been reduced to 2.5 seconds (previously 3 seconds).
- Syringes now take 4 seconds (previously 5 seconds).
- Healing items now stack up to 6. Players start with 4 Cells and 4 Syringes (previously 2 of each).
- Spawn rates for Batteries and Medkits have been slightly increased.
Dev Note: Given the adjustments made to max health and the introduction of universal gold helmet perks alongside numerous weapon buffs, there’s a heightened urgency for players to replenish health. As such, making healing more accessible is a welcomed change this season.
Helmet Changes
- White, Blue, and Purple helmets have been removed from the loot pool.
- Players no longer begin the match with a White helmet.
Dev Note: The previous helmet system lacked significance regarding damage mitigation, making headshot damage calculations unclear. By eliminating headshot damage reduction, players can better gauge the impact of damage received.
Gold Helmet Revamp
- Now classified as Gold Armor Upgrade Helmet.
- Grants an Improved Minor Healing perk which doubles the effects of Cells and Syringes.
- Sets the player’s armor to 100, irrespective of armor level.
- Armor leveling is still necessary for unlocking Legend Upgrades; however, it no longer influences the armor’s performance while equipped.
- Removes headshot damage reduction.
- Can appear in Gold Bins after a Bin Reset.
Introduction of Mythic Armor Upgrade Helmet
- New Red tier introduced.
- Sets the player’s armor to 125 regardless of level.
- Leveling remains necessary for Legend Upgrades, but does not impact armor performance with this item equipped.
- Red helmets do not provide headshot damage reduction.
- Available in Mythic bins and late-game Care Packages.
Dev Note: These new Gold and Red Helmets are designed to shift passive power aspects from Legends to the loot pool, presenting new chaseable items that can enhance gameplay dynamics and strategy.
Knocked Down State Enhancements
- Notable increase in crawl speed when knocked down, both with and without a knockdown shield.
POI Naming on Drop
- Players can now view the name and loot tier of each POI displayed prominently during their initial drop.
- This includes Arsenal information, assisting with drop decisions.

- Hop Ups: Hammerpoints have been removed from the loot pool.
- Gold Magazines: Reload time while stowed has decreased to 2 seconds (previously 5 seconds).
