As Apex Legends Season 23 reaches its midway point, Respawn Entertainment has unveiled exciting details about the mid-season update patch notes, set to launch on January 7. The upcoming changes promise to significantly impact gameplay, with buffs targeting Legends such as Mirage, Loba, and Alter, along with several balance adjustments across weapons and gear.
Continuing its tradition of engaging limited-time events, Season 23 previously introduced “From the Rift.”The forthcoming Astral Anomaly event will offer players the chance to experience the nostalgic launch royale LTM once again, now available on maps including World’s Edge, Olympus, Storm Point, Broken Moon, and the iconic Kings Canyon. Alongside this return are numerous balance changes designed to enhance the overall gaming experience.

Balance Updates
Care Package
- Opening a Care Package now grants EVO to the entire team rather than just the opener.
Gold Weapon Rotation
- Featured weapons include the Charge Rifle, Prowler PDW, Nemesis Burst AR, G7 Scout, and CAR SMG.
Ring Lethality
- Support perks will be disabled once players hit the Ring Lethality warning time limit.
- Revive Expert benefits will retain a cooldown period after being utilized within the ring.
Attachments & Ordinance
Accelerated Weapons
A new Accelerator attachment will be introduced for the Nemesis Burst AR, G7 Scout, and CAR SMG:
- Enhances EVO gains from damage.
- Boosts Ultimate charge from damage.
- Grants 30% Ultimate charge on knockdowns when equipped with an Accelerator weapon.
Developer Note: This new Hop-Up is designed to enhance early match gameplay by making significant impacts without players needing to search for rare items.
Arc Star
- Players will receive a “STUCK” notification when hit by an Arc Star.
Developer Note: This messaging aims to eliminate confusion during heated battles regarding whether players have been hit by an Arc Star.
Hop Ups
- New Select Fire option added:
- Available on the Prowler PDW and Charge Rifle.
- Features a toggleable automatic firing mode.
Weapons
Charge Rifle
- Increased ammo capacity across various magazine tiers.
- Enhanced projectile size and speed, and reduced recoil.
- Now compatible with the Select Fire Hop-Up, allowing for an automatic firing mode with a damage reduction.

Mastiff
- Blast pattern tightening while aiming has been reduced, and blast pattern size has increased.
- Increased time required before firing when raising the weapon.
Peacekeeper
- Choke speed and projectile speed are significantly increased.
Developer Note: These changes are aimed at enhancing the Peacekeeper’s effectiveness at range, particularly against moving targets.
RE-45
- Damage has increased from 12 to 13.
Developer Note: This adjustment seeks to improve the RE-45’s competitiveness within the current gameplay meta.

Alter
- Void Nexus cooldown reduced to 120 seconds and now has an increased range.
- Level 3 upgrades now allow for multiple Void Nexuses to exist simultaneously.

- Ultimate ability now starts with 99% charge, allowing immediate team access to her Black Market.
- Improvements to her Tactical ability include two charges with quicker toss and recovery times.
Mirage
- Passive ability now allows for cloaking while using healing items with a shorter cooldown and increased speed after revives.
