AOOSTAR is preparing to launch a promising new Mini PC, powered by the advanced AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 processor, all while maintaining a compact design that supports a thermal design power (TDP) of up to 54W.
Introducing the Upgraded AOOSTAR GEM10 Mini PC: Launching at $729
The latest release from AOOSTAR features notable advancements that enhance computing speed and efficiency. This new Mini PC is equipped with the Strix Point AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 CPU, representing a continuation of their earlier GEM10 model, which utilized the same APU and was pioneering for AOOSTAR, being its first device based on AMD’s Zen 5 architecture.
While the core hardware configuration mirrors that of the GEM10, several enhancements set this model apart. Primarily, the memory has been upgraded from LPDDR5 7500 MT/s RAM to an impressive 8000 MT/s interface, offering improved performance. Additionally, the chassis features a fresh design embellished with AOOSTAR branding, strategically placed side vents, and an expanded array of connectivity ports on the front panel.
It is noteworthy that the newer model has one fewer SSD port than the GEM10, now offering 2x M.2 slots for PCI-E SSDs. While it remains uncertain whether AOOSTAR has upgraded these slots from PCI-E 4.0 to PCI-E 5.0, the lower price point of the new model might indicate they have retained the original specifications. Previously, the GEM10 was priced at $799, making the latest edition more affordable by $60.
This Mini PC is equipped with cutting-edge connectivity options, including Wi-Fi 7, USB4, two USB Type-A ports, OCuLink, and an audio jack. It leverages a vapor chamber cooling system designed for ultra-quiet operation, ensuring that performance remains optimal without excessive noise.
The reduction in price for this Strix Point-based mini PC is a welcome change, especially given the limited options available within the market as other manufacturers have yet to widely adopt the Strix Point technology.
