AOOSTAR has made waves in the tech industry by launching the first-ever MoTD motherboards powered by the cutting-edge AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX3D and Ryzen 9 9955HX “Zen 5” processors.

The popularity of MoTD (Motherboards on Demand) motherboards continues to rise, largely due to their exceptional price-to-performance ratio. While various vendors offer such products, China’s AOOSTAR is stepping into the spotlight with its latest innovation.
The newly announced M-ATX MoTD motherboard from AOOSTAR provides two advanced CPU options: the AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX3D and the Ryzen 9 9955HX. These processors are designed specifically for high-performance mobile devices like laptops and are based on the Zen 5 architecture. Each CPU boasts 16 cores and 32 threads, with impressive clock speeds reaching up to 5.4 GHz and a thermal design power (TDP) of 55W, which can be reconfigured to 75W. The standard model is equipped with a 64 MB L3 cache, while the X3D variant features an expanded 128 MB of L3 cache through advanced 2nd Gen 3D V-Cache technology.
The design of the motherboard emphasizes both functionality and style, sporting a sleek black and white aesthetic. It utilizes a robust 10-phase VRM (Voltage Regulator Module) for efficient power delivery, and is equipped with VRM and M.2 heatsinks to ensure optimal thermal management. The board offers a full-length PCIe 5.0 x16 slot designated for GPUs, supplemented by an additional PCIe 4.0 x1 slot. There are also two Gen5 x4 M.2 slots available for NVMe storage, alongside support for dual DDR5 UDIMMs, accommodating up to 128 GB of memory.
For enhanced cooling, the CPU is fitted with a vapor-chamber baseplate that acts as its integrated heat spreader (IHS).The motherboard is compatible with a wide range of coolers and heatsinks thanks to the AM5 retention slot standard. It supports power through a single 8-pin connector and features 2 SATA III ports, accompanied by multiple fan headers for improved airflow. Additionally, the I/O connectivity supports 7.1 channel audio and comes with a variety of USB ports.
When it comes to pricing, the AOOSTAR motherboard with the Ryzen 9 9955HX3D is available for 4799 RMB (approximately $650 USD), while the version featuring the Ryzen 9 9955HX is priced at 3799 RMB (around $500 USD).Given that the Ryzen 9 9950X3D retails for $700 USD, customers are effectively getting a motherboard bundled with a CPU for a mere $50 less. The standard variant undercuts the desktop 9950X by $100 USD, proving to be an attractive option for consumers looking for value.
