Anticipating Season 3 of ‘Severance’: Let’s Hope We Don’t Face a 3-Year Wait Again

While Season 2 of Severance has officially concluded, fans can rejoice in the knowledge that the series has been renewed for a third season on Apple TV+! This exciting news promises to keep the intrigue and complex storytelling of the show alive.

As part of the renewal announcement, prominent figures from the series shared their eagerness for continuing the journey. Director Ben Stiller expressed his enthusiasm during a statement to Variety, stating, “Creating Severance has been one of the most creatively fulfilling experiences of my career. While I may not remember making this, I’m excited for Season 3, despite the inevitable memory loss I will face.”

Actor Adam Scott, who plays Mark, also shared his excitement, but with a hint of humor.“I’m thrilled to revive Mark alongside the incredible cast and crew, as well as our partners at Apple. By the way, if you happen to see my innie, keep this under wraps!” he quipped, showcasing the show’s playful yet dark tone.

Writer and creator Dan Erickson reflected on the project, describing the opportunity to continue crafting Severance as more exhilarating than anything else. He eagerly mentioned, “Making more of this series with the finest cast and crew is a prospect more thrilling than all the world’s finger traps combined. I can’t wait to further explore themes of woe, frolic, dread, and malice with these talented individuals.”

After the lengthy three-year hiatus following the end of Season 1, fans are understandably anxious about whether a similar delay will occur again. During his appearance on the New Heights podcast, Stiller reassured fans that this time there would be no extensive wait.“No, that is definitely not the plan. We hope to announce our roadmap very soon. That’s not our intention this time, ” he confirmed, providing a glimmer of hope for eager viewers.

As it stands, Adam Scott is the only confirmed cast member for the upcoming season. However, given that the entire ensemble returned for Season 2, it’s reasonable to expect most, if not all, of the main cast to reprise their roles. Fans are particularly curious about how Gemma, played by Dichen Lachman, will navigate the complexities of the real world compared to Mark, who finds himself trapped in the severed floor after the season finale. The potential for new characters remains uncertain, leaving much to the imagination.

The core ensemble includes notable talents such as Britt Lower, Tramell Tillman, Zach Cherry, John Turturro, Christopher Walken, Jen Tullock, Patricia Arquette, among others.

The anticipation continues to grow, and while we await further details, it is reassuring to know that more of Severance is indeed on the way!
