Antgamer Unveils 1000Hz Backlit Display with Launch Set for 2026

HKC’s Antgamer has made headlines by introducing its groundbreaking backlit display prototype, marking a significant leap with an unprecedented 1000Hz refresh rate and an innovative zoned backlight system aimed at enhancing visual clarity.

Introducing Antgamer’s Revolutionary 1000Hz Zoned Backlit Display with Black Frame Insertion: Launching Next Year

In a recent event, the sub-brand Antgamer, also known as Ant ESports, showcased its impressive ANT257PF monitor, the world’s first 750Hz gaming display designed for speed enthusiasts. Though refresh rates above 240Hz often feel incredibly smooth, many gamers may find such high rates, like the 750Hz, somewhat superfluous. Additionally, continuous backlight can contribute to sample-and-hold blur, compromising the overall gaming experience.

To address this issue, Antgamer introduced its innovative 1000Hz Backlit Display at a recent technology conference. This advanced display features a zoned backlight system, a departure from traditional LCDs that operate on a single backlight unit. The zoned system segments the backlight into multiple controllable zones, allowing for enhanced contrast and synchronization with high refresh rates, resulting in superior visibility and performance.

The upcoming Antgamer 1000Hz display will strategically synchronize its backlight zones with its refresh cycles. Additionally, it will implement a Black Frame Insertion (BFI) technique, which enhances fluidity by rapidly inserting black frames between the actual frames on the screen. This functionality aims to diminish motion blur, allowing the eyes to perceive a clearer image during fast-paced gaming, especially at the new 1000Hz refresh rate.

While the potential of a 1000Hz display to enhance gameplay fluidity is exciting, achieving this high refresh rate presents considerable challenges. Whether this evolution will prove beneficial in competitive gaming remains to be seen, and it may not appeal to the wider gaming community. Scheduled for launch next year, the Antgamer 1000Hz backlit display is following the release of the ANT257PF 750Hz monitor, which debuted at a staggering price of $1, 110.
