Anna Delvey Missing After DWTS Premiere: Partner Ezra Sosa Reports She Was Found Crying in the Bathroom
Ezra Sosa, Anna Delvey’s partner on Dancing With the Stars, has come to the defense of the faux heiress amidst the significant online backlash she has faced. He revealed that Delvey experienced an emotional first week during the dance competition and that he discovered her crying in the bathroom during the DWTS premiere.
In an Instagram video posted on Tuesday, September 24, Sosa reflected on the excitement of the inaugural week of DWTS, sharing that he received overwhelming support “from literally every single person, including my partner.”However, he emphasized that Delvey did not receive the same level of warmth and encouragement. Sosa recalled struggling to locate Delvey after the press line and after encountering hateful comments online. He stated:
“We couldn’t find her. We finally found her in the bathroom. She was crying. I’d never seen her like that and it broke my heart.”
In the video, Anna Delvey’s partner expressed his desire to offer her “the best experience”on Dancing With the Stars. He added that it was “heartbreaking”to know that the opposite was occurring due to the criticism she was receiving.
Sosa also urged viewers to extend “some grace”to his dancing partner, emphasizing that “no one deserves the amount of hate”Anna Delvey is currently enduring. The DWTS professional further affirmed that Delvey had “stepped up to the plate”and “deserves a second chance.”
Anna Delvey Faces Ongoing Criticism After Joining Dancing With the Stars
Anna Delvey encountered backlash immediately upon her announcement as a contestant for Season 33 of Dancing With the Stars. The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) permitted her participation in the dancing competition, although it required her to continue wearing her ankle monitor.
The hosts of The View publicly criticized Delvey’s involvement in the dance show on September 5. Alyssa Farrah Griffin, Sunny Hostin, and Whoopi Goldberg expressed their disapproval of the production’s decision to feature a convicted fraudster in the competition. They also alleged that Delvey still owed money, although this information was later corrected on air following a letter from Delvey’s attorney.
Recently, DWTS fans have also criticized Delvey for her performance during the premiere, with some netizens labeling it as “emotionless.”Negative comments circulated online, including one from an X user named @averagely_basic, who questioned:
“Is it possible to charge Anna Delvey with another crime for how emotionless that dance was?”
Other viewers commented that her DWTS premiere performance “sucked all the energy and happiness out of the ballroom,”with additional criticism directed at the convicted fraudster for prominently displaying her bedazzled ankle monitor during her dance routine with Sosa.
Anna Delvey is not the only controversial figure to compete on DWTS. The dance competition has previously featured notable figures such as former White House press secretary Sean Spicer, actress Lori Loughlin, Olivia Jade, and Food Network’s Paula Deen.
