Google has recently released the Android 14 QPR3 Beta 2.1 for all Pixel devices that are supported. This latest update includes various bug fixes for all devices. Those who wish to update can do so by downloading the factory image provided at the end of this post.

The AP21.240305.005 version number is included in the Android 14 QPR3 Beta 2.1, which surprisingly has the March 2024 security patch. The update is now accessible for all supported devices, including the Pixel 5a, Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 6a, Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro, Pixel 7a, Pixel Tablet, Pixel Fold, Pixel 8, and Pixel 8 Pro. While the device provides various bug fixes, it does not have a significant size, with the maximum size being 500 MB on some devices when received via OTA.

- Fixed an issue that sometimes caused a device’s launcher to crash when trying to view recent apps. (Issue #328803294)
- Fixed an issue that sometimes prevented Pixel Tablet devices from charging while connected to the dock. (Issue #299800125)
- Addressed a problem where the home screen was not always accessible when swiping up from the bottom of the screen.
- Resolved a problem where the padding on the lock screen notifications was displaying incorrectly.
- Various problems that were leading to frequent occurrences of “Application not responding”errors for both system and user applications have been resolved.
- Addressed a problem where the notification shade was not always displayed when swiping down from the top of the screen.
- Resolved a problem on Pixel Fold devices where content would only appear on half of the inner screen when the device was unfolded.
- Fixed a problem that occasionally hindered the proper backup of a user’s wallpaper settings.
- An issue causing the “Quick Tap to start actions” gesture to occasionally malfunction has been resolved.
- Addressed a range of other concerns that were affecting the stability, functioning, connection, responsiveness, and camera of the system.
Those who are currently enrolled in the Android 14 beta program can expect to receive the OTA update very soon. Due to reports of phones being bricked, Google has disabled the OTA image update method, making factory images the most reliable option.
