Recently, HoYoVerse announced that Anaxagoras will be joining the roster of Honkai: Star Rail as the latest five-star character in the upcoming version 3.2. Notably, this character prefers the name Anaxagoras and insists that players avoid the nickname “Anaxa.”
Character Background and Role
Anaxagoras is characterized as the Demised Scholar and Chrysos Heir, hailing from the Grove of Epiphany in Amphoreus. As one of the esteemed Seven Sages, he embodies the Erudition class, alongside notable characters such as Argenti, The Herta, and Jing Yuan. This classification focuses on delivering area-of-effect (AOE) damage, which in Anaxagoras’ case will be Wind-elemental damage.

The official character profile shared over social media highlighted Anaxagoras’ no-nonsense personality. In a striking statement, he made it clear that he values direct communication, silence, and the importance of using his full name.

Comparison with Other Characters
Anaxagoras is the second character unveiled in version 3.2, following the reveal of Castorice. Contrary to Anaxagoras’ scholarly demeanor, Castorice is recognized for her significant supporting role in the 3.0 Trailblaze Mission. As a Remembrance character, she specializes in Quantum damage and will also be a five-star unit.
Upcoming Features in Honkai: Star Rail
Honkai: Star Rail is currently accessible on multiple platforms, including PS5, PC, and mobile devices. Fans can look forward to the Special Program for version 3.1, set to air at 3:30 AM PT / 6:30 AM ET on February 14, 2025, with the official launch slated for February 26, 2025. The release date for version 3.2 has yet to be announced.
