Ammar from Love is Blind Habibi Reveals Dancing Opposition Sparks Conflict with Karma at Reunion
Following the broadcast of the Love is Blind season 7 reunion on October 30, the Love is Blind Habibi reunion took center stage on November 1. This special brought together the season’s couples, allowing them to share updates about their lives and relationships. The participants also reflected on their experiences during the social experiment, addressing past disagreements and breakups they faced.
Among the highlighted separations were Ammar and Karma, who captured the audience’s affection throughout the season. Despite their engagement in the pods and aspirations for a lasting partnership, their relationship encountered a major roadblock when Ammar deemed Karma’s passion for belly dancing unacceptable. He issued an ultimatum, insisting that if Karma wanted to continue their relationship, she needed to abandon her dancing career.
For Karma, dancing represented her freedom and identity, leading her to choose her passion over Ammar. During the reunion, she confronted him, questioning why it was acceptable for him to appear shirtless on camera while her dancing was problematic. Ammar responded:
“The context I’m referring to reflects the norms across the Middle East. It goes beyond just our culture. It’s a broader societal disapproval.”
A Deep Dive into Karma and Ammar’s Discussion on Love is Blind Habibi Reunion
Karma pressed Ammar on his views about dance being unsuitable for the reunion, to which he clarified that it wasn’t the dance itself he opposed, but rather the sacrifices he believed were necessary for family life. When Ammar suggested that his beliefs were a societal consensus, Karma challenged him, urging him not to generalize.
He elaborated, saying:
“Dancing carries an element of attraction that draws attention. As Arabs, we have a sense of jealousy about that. A glance could be more damaging than words. Sometimes, an expression can convey deeper meanings than spoken language.”
This comment elicited laughter from Nour and Hajar. Ammar asserted that he didn’t believe Karma needed to break up over a single disagreement. In response, Karma argued that to label all of Arab society as viewing dance as inappropriate was inaccurate, pointing out that differing opinions can exist even within the same family.
She illustrated her point by stating that siblings from the same family can hold contrasting views. She also emphasized that her upbringing, influenced by her father and brother, taught her the importance of self-expression and individuality. Karma expressed her disappointment regarding Ammar’s comment about her future partners, stating it undermined her worth. Ammar defended his stance by referencing his upbringing, explaining:
“For me, discussing this is challenging. I simply cannot accept my wife dancing. It’s absolutely unacceptable.”
He suggested that Karma should have acquiesced to his views before deciding to part ways, proposing that a conversation could have resolved their issues. Karma responded by saying that since neither was willing to compromise, it was a “sensible decision” to end the relationship.
When the host of Love is Blind Habibi noted that viewers had labeled Ammar as “controlling,”he retorted that he perceived his behavior as “protectiveness”and “leadership,”asserting that a woman would view a non-leader as weak.
