AMD Zen 5 Ryzen 5 9500F and Ryzen 7 9700F Priced at $217 and $294 in US Retailers

Retailers have begun showcasing the latest Ryzen 9000 series processors that do not feature integrated graphics, although it remains unclear whether the displayed prices are verified.

New AMD Ryzen 9000 Chips: Ryzen 5 9500F and Ryzen 7 9700F Prices Revealed

The recently launched AMD Ryzen 9000 series, based on the Zen 5 architecture, has begun shipping, as confirmed by listings from various retailers. Among these, the Ryzen 7 9700F—a robust 8-core, 16-thread CPU—is priced at $294 at Shop BLT, while the Ryzen 5 9500F, which offers 6 cores and 12 threads, is available for $217.

AMD Ryzen 7 9700F 8-core processor listed for $294.14 with availability Ordered as needed.

Initial sightings of the Ryzen 7 9700F surfaced on the ASUS website, revealing a base clock speed of 3.8 GHz, mirroring the specifications of the Ryzen 7 9700X. Although the boost clock remains unconfirmed, it may not reach the performance of its counterpart. An interesting note is Shop BLT erroneously labeled this model as an “8-core/12-thread”processor—definitely a typo—though the accurate thermal design power (TDP) rating is confirmed at 65W.

The Ryzen 5 9500F was previously highlighted in Geekbench benchmarks about 10 days ago, featuring a base clock of 3.8 GHz and a boost clock speculated to reach 5.0 GHz according to Shop BLT. For comparison, the Ryzen 5 9600X boasts a higher boost rate of up to 5.4 GHz. While the gauges from Geekbench corroborate the 5.0 GHz peak performance, the L2+L3 cache memory stands at 38 MB, aligned with the capabilities of the 9600X, and retains a TDP of 65W.

RYZEN 5 9500F processor listed with price $217.84, availability status Ordered as needed, and AMD logo visible.

The Ryzen 5 9500F’s current price tags it at $217, although its official pricing is still subject to speculation. In contrast, the Ryzen 7 9700F‘s quoted price of $294 falls within an anticipated range of $250-$300. However, it is perceived as slightly elevated given its potential for lower clock speeds compared to existing models. With the Ryzen 7 9700X available at about $329, it is conceivable that the Ryzen 7 9700F might settle at an official price closer to $279—though this is merely conjecture.

Conversely, the pricing for the Ryzen 5 9500F appears somewhat inflated when the Ryzen 5 9600X is retailing at or below $200 in various outlets. The recently launched Ryzen 5 7500F debuted at an MSRP of $179, which had raised expectations for the 9500F. As market dynamics evolve, we anticipate broader retail availability shortly, with AMD poised to disclose official pricing and specifications in the coming days.
