Official Launch of AMD’s Radeon RX 9070 GPUs in China Prior to Global Showcase
The unveiling event, conducted by AMD China (via HXL), was an exclusive gathering for AMD’s AIB (Add-In-Board) partners and media representatives. The spotlight was on the announcement of official retail prices for the new RDNA 4 graphics cards. According to the event’s highlights, the Radeon RX 9070 XT will be priced at 4999 RMB (approximately $690), while the standard Radeon RX 9070 will retail for 4499 RMB (about $620).These figures closely mirror rumors circulating prior to the launch.

It’s crucial to remember that these pricing details pertain to the Chinese market, and the global release is anticipated shortly. Generally, pricing tends to be consistent worldwide; however, it’s worth noting that taxes and fees could drive prices higher in certain regions, particularly in Europe. During the event, AMD also presented their RX 9070 reference models, featuring both dual and triple fan configurations; these, however, will not be immediately available in retail markets following the launch.

When comparing the pricing of the AMD Radeon RX 9070 GPUs with NVIDIA’s Blackwell 70-class lineup, the RX 9070 non-XT is positioned alongside the GeForce RTX 5070 at similar price points. However, the market availability of NVIDIA’s RTX 50 series remains uncertain. Conversely, the Radeon RX 9070 XT presents a more compelling value proposition, showcasing nearly a 20% lower price relative to the GeForce RTX 5070 Ti. Additionally, its favorable price-to-performance ratio positions it competitively against the GeForce RTX 4080 in synthetic benchmarks.
The tech community eagerly awaits the global launch, expected to alleviate lingering speculation about the RDNA 4 series of graphics cards.
