AMD Unveils Radeon RX 9060 XT Reference Design: Launch Scheduled for May 21st, Availability Status Update

AMD has officially announced the unveiling date for the Radeon RX 9060 XT, generating excitement among gaming and tech enthusiasts. While the company has provided a glimpse of the reference edition, it is important to note that this model will not be available for public purchase.

Radeon RX 9060 XT: Features and Specifications

The forthcoming Radeon RX 9060 XT features a reference design akin to the Radeon RX 9070 XT, but similar to its predecessor, it won’t be readily accessible to consumers. The graphics card is scheduled for presentation on May 21 at Computex in Taipei, where AMD will unveil a range of innovative products aimed at enhancing both gaming and AI sectors.

An infographic released through AMD’s gaming division offers a depiction of the dual-fan design expected for the RX 9060 XT graphics card. While some speculation suggests that a limited number of these cards may be produced, they will not be sold in stores. A similar situation arose with the RX 9070 XT reference design, which appeared well after its initial launch.

Despite the artistic render of the Radeon RX 9060 XT suggesting a tangible product, the caption states, “Artistic Render Not Available for Purchase.”The more critical aspect, however, is the confirmation of its release date, during which AMD will unveil detailed specifications and performance metrics.

Based on the provided render, we now know that the RX 9060 XT will come equipped with a single 8-pin PCI-E power connector, indicating a thermal design power (TDP) threshold of approximately 200W or less. Custom variants, particularly overclocked editions, are likely to demand more power; thus, partners may add an additional connector to facilitate overclocking capabilities.

Regarding core specifications, the RX 9060 XT is expected to integrate 2048 Stream Processors and offer both 8 GB and 16 GB memory configurations. AMD appears to be prioritizing the release of the 16 GB variant, with the 8 GB model slated for a later introduction. The GPU will feature a 128-bit memory bus width, positioning itself in direct competition with NVIDIA’s RTX 5060 Ti.
